Rainbow Six isn't the biggest game in MLG. Not a lot of people in MLG care for it and not a lot of people compete in it compared to the other games.

However I still support the game because not only do I like playing this game but travelling around the country and meeting people I play with over Xbox is something really cool to experience.

Plus it's summer and I got a call telling me I don't need to go to work today so I have no plans today.

I also realize there are always gonna be people that have no respect for others.Would it kill people to not start pointless arguments? You are a moderator GSG_9_Rage you should have some responsibility to set an example not encourage or join in on that behavior.

@phobia_x....very interesting tournament footage. I fail to see how this is run 'n gun as the nay-sayers put it, since I was pleasantly surprised to see how tactical the matches were i.e. players knew exactly what the objectives were, where the choke points were and generally seem to have an acute awareness of what's going on. The MLG tournament footage that you just posted is a far better example of real match gameplay than your initial post, which was an edited video and as such, gives much more an impression of aimlessly running and gunning.

Perhaps what's missing, is a one hour waypoint planning session before the match begins....maybe that would appease the "unique tactical" fanatics.

You're a Famas guy...gotta love that gun.

Scratch my commment regarding the post-processing effects....looks like you're all Xbox gamers....it looked as though it was turned off in your first video.

I used to watch one of the top ET clans in tournament matches and although I could never reach that level of accuracy, I found it absolutely riveting to watch live.

Continue to have fun !

And how were his arguments pointless? Ironically, it seems like YOU are the one who is coming out with opinions that you do not explain (=pointless arguments).

Okay, before this goes on any farther, I want to apologize to phobia_x for my actions. I shouldn't have acted the way that I have acted. You have every right to post what you want to post and you shouldn't get crap for it.

Don't worry about it.

Nothing was taken to heart or anything. So please people don't team up on Rage.

Well a couple things from a veteran of the series, what he was doing was S&P, he ran right past a guy, just to turn around open fire and strafe to the side, he didn't aim, heck he didn't even have a chance to see if that was a teammate, since the floating logo wouldn't have been visible up that close without looking up, so he sprayed an entire magazine while praying that his bullets landed first, S&P. I realize that sometimes it takes an entire mag just to kill someone, but that is one of the things we veterans have problems with in the Vegas series.

And the blind grenade toss, if you don't know where it is going to land, then it is a blind toss. If you throw a frag, on the off chance a bad guy is there, that is a blind frag. Sure, we had them in RVS as well, but the person had to handicap themselves to do it, by holding onto the grenade, which made them vulnerable to someone who came around a corner, I used to like sniping guys after seeing they pulled the pin and see if I could get any of his teammates with a death frag, because winning was better than the number of kills next to my name. In RL life you are supposed to know that every round, every grenade is aimed at a bad guy. I know kids will say this isn't real life and go join the Army or some other BS, I did and am now disabled because of it, but I always knew that rainbow games strived to be as real as possible, but that is far from the case today.

And Mystically, if someone old or new comes in with a genuine problem, the community has tried to be helpful, if not always positive, but when people come on complaining that us old timers are upset about what happened to the series, telling us to stop crying, or in this case, a kid coming in trying to pat his own back, trying show us all how good a player he is, I cannot be supportive of those type of community members, since they have no clue as to how to be part of a community, because with the "ME" generation, the needs of the whole comes way behind the wants of the individual. They often don't care if their team wins or losses as long as they get the most kills, or get an award or unlock of some kind. Thus we have XP points, what's the use, they can't buy you gear, they don't pay for your XBL subscription. They serve no useful purpose other than to allow the kids to brag, and I say kids, because I don't know too many 30+ yr olds who will go around bragging how well he plays a video game.

The devs took the saying "what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas!", to heart. That's why they refuse to remove any of the bugs or glitches!

Well whats the point of posting a video of you playing RSV2 if it isnt meant for us to admire you in some kind of way. No people complain because their game was screwed up and it was something they had for a long time so they complain because they want it fixed.

ENOUGH!!

phobia is perfectly entitled to post a link to a video of him playing the game and to do so without insult or ridicule from others, if you don’t understand the need for the video then discuss it constructively with him/her or don’t join the discussion but the childish insults and arguing stop now, they are not welcome not to mention against the forum rules.

If this persists I will be contacting people via PT

i think it all boils down to console verses pc yet again. Console players dont have the patience to be tactical, calling them professional gamers is just like calling my grandpa a pro gamer for play the old marble labrynth to death. I cant believe people are getting paid to twiddle their thumbs.

rex; I really do agree to what you say, I only felt it got a bit to strong for my personal taste, the kids and us are two completely different generations of gamers, you can choose to ignore that fact, the fact that the "new generation" prefers other kind of games and gamestyles than you and me. Or you can try to learn to live with it, my point is that both generations should feel welcome at these forums as it actually is the official one.

I've been gaming fps games since I got my first computer in 94, my personal taste for games have not changed to much since then (being; in what kind of games are important to me and what games are for fun) I have never considered my selves skilled at gaming, nether has most people from "my gaming generation" rarely done as it was all about the fun back then (at least thats my impression)

The kid generation "seems" to consider them selves real skilled (even though they often are not) let them go on about it, these guys are kids ffs, kids do have a "load mouth" you know.. Kids are supposed to build there self esteem while being kids, braggin is one way to do it.. Let there hormones rage and let them have fun. You know your selves how much routine and experience in gaming you personally have, no need for you to feel intimidated by kids (you as in everyone who feels I'm speaking to them), there should be no need to make total rants and meaningless attacks on these kids. (not saying that you; rex are, but generally)

Gaming is about fun, communities are a huge part of gaming and should be about just as fun as gaming FOR ALL, a place where both adults and kids meet to share there experiences, this community is not a fun place, actually as many others it has become pretty tragic, and you can't blame the kids for that, it's those elitist people who's only opinion that matters are there own opinions, and for most cases it's bitter old school people like your selves (you give the impression that you are) and in many cases my selves. It's real pathetic to be honest.... especially how this forum has devolved.

I often find my selves scratching my head while reading posts at this forum, with thoughts like "wtf are wrong with these people?, do they really need to do all this ranting just to feel better about them selves ?" God forbid you disagree whit anyone at these forums, if you do people will let you know exactly what kind of an idiot you are.. So pathetic that it leaves a bad taste in my mouth, about the same as herring.

I'm trying to type this with respect, I might fail though as my English are not one of my strong sides.

Nice post Mysticaly....your English is fine, although I'm not sure from which part of the planet you hail.

There are a few individuals around here that fully appreciate the issue at hand and it is undeniably due to a separist group of elitists not wanting to accept change and the inevitable evolutionary cycle. It's quite similar to those that still dwell on Elvis or Frank Sinatra....age really has nothing to do with this....why not be 60 and listen to Slipknot ? Why is that so inconceivable ? Why not admire young Xbox gamers even though you yourself may be "over the hill" at 35 ? This all comes down to tolerance and an open mind, period.

I'm guessing that phobia_x isn't a "kid"...I'd guess he's around 18 and judging by his tournament footage on MLG which most of you probably didn't take the time to watch, he could most likely take most of the oldtimers around here, still living in the past reminiscing about the good 'ol days of the original R6, for a ride.

I commend Phobia_x for not retaliating to the numerous outbursts here as a result of simply posting a video. He made no self-prolific claims or statements, he was not trying to recruit, he did not bath in his own l33tness. You refer to him as a kid, but his professional and courteous approach to your slew of relatively immature responses was exemplary and begs the question as to who exactly the "kid" is around here !

I have two kids and I'll be damn if I am going to teach them that the world revolves around them for fear of insulting or making them feel bad. Hell, when there's time to tell them that the world is not easy, I let them have it and when there is time to tell them I am even more proud of them I also let them know.

If we don't teach them the difference between right and wrong and let them do whatever they please, how are they going to learn? I am all for letting them fall so they learn to pick themselves up but, from time to time giving them a hand and teach tehm how to jump the hole instead of falling in it helps as well.

Help is help and it can not always be presented in a good or unhurtful way unfortunately. sometimes by talking to them like adults they come back and act that way, if they don't, I just leave them alone for their own parents to teach them. Phobia came back and responded as an adult and stood his ground, he has gotten my admiration for it but I still think that this is part of why the games are being dumb down now a days and since I still like the game, I want to make it better for me as well.
