if there's any Ubisoft/RSV2 Dev. reading this post, could you tell us if RSV2 will support the new Trophies system of the PS3? ( available on July 2, Firmware 2.40 = Trophies System + XMB In-Game)

if not, will you release a patch later to support it?

So are these trophies like a rip off of the 360 Achievement system?

You can't blame Ubisoft for not being psychic.

And the PS3 has always had achievements, but just not displayed for other players to view.

In fact, a majority of old systems (including playstation) had achievements for their games.

Xbox just expanded it to a console-wide points system. So, yes in that sense I suppose the trophy system is a rip-off.

Regardless, this is the list I found that will support Trophies.

There were more urgent issues to attend and the developers (rightly in my opinion) put their focus on the game defining changes. Thats not to say they wont work on tropies in the future but at this time there are no plans to.

ive read that 70% of the games already released will support the thropies system.

dunno if its true or not, and some games that dont support it already can release a patch later. this could be the case with vegas 2 if ubisoft wants.

Just In Sony put up on there Blog that Criterion will be posting a patch for BUrnout to Support Trophies. I dont see why Rainbow shouldn't be one of the current major titles to support it.

Sony should pay Ubisoft to get trophies implemented.

why? its also ubisoft interest to be updated with all the features, so gamers can be happy and buy their games.

I mean this with all respect, but this type of mentality is what's wrong with game developers today.

Ubisoft (as well as others, for that matter) have ASSUMED that they are working on more important "game defining changes" all the while missing a golden opportunity to jump head first into the Trophy era of PS3 gaming.

These aforementioned "game defining changes" should have occured prior to RSV2's release. Should they have not? Is that not what sequels are all about?

But hey, instead of bringing "game defining changes" such as trophies to the forefront of priorities which would undoubtedly bring more interest in RSV2 and offer TONS OF REPLAY, you decide to concentrate on other endeavors.

Speaking of contradictions, why is it that the 360 version supports the EXACT same in game accomplishements as the PS3, save the "Achievements", yet Ubisoft has no plans to bring the "Trophies" to the PS3?

I see, you give us the "might" and "could" response. Sounds like you are trying to placate some of the PS3 fanbase to me.

What a shame.

Being that the PS3 version was just a port of the Xbox 360 anyway they might as well just use the same achievements.

Ubisoft shouldn't even waste their time going through a replacing Achievements with the word Trophies seeing as people were getting "disconnected from Xbox Live" notices on the PS3 network anyhow.

I realy hope soooooo, cause it will get people to play r6v2 for leveling up.

The Ubisoft Team have posted on the MCV comments that they will infact be patching Trophies for both Vegas games and most of the other UBI games.
Hats off if they do and they can expect a sales spike with the games they do patch.

For those that don't know, MCV is a very well repected trade mag/website that developers use.
