Agree Agreed, plus I hate it when people suggest something to Ubisoft, some people just AUTOMATICALLY assume that the user who suggested something "MUST" suck at the game. It's like there's no... objective thinking that goes in BEFORE the retort comes out. Confused

Interesting. All I have to say is... Interesting.

Neil:

You are one of the biggest hypocrites here, kiddo.

You appear to have some kind of OCD (Obsessive Compulsive Order) judging by the amount of posts and their content. You also seem to be always seeking validation ("I am right!") and must always be the center of attention. The problem is you don't care how you get the attention, good or bad. It also appears like you want to be the Alpha Male on these forums... That and possibly a moderator, too.

I've got news for you:

Being a moderator ain't gonna happen, kiddo. You have demonstrated absolutely no self-control whatsoever and have trolled, flamed and driven away more posters than anybody I have ever seen on these forums in my five year tenor here. And that is saying a lot considering I've dealt with some posters whom I know most likely had some real life issues they probably should have seek help for, but didn't and used these forums as a way to act out. And it's not just me.

More mature posters have even tried to help you out by giving you real world advise -- Like when you insist on challenging game developers to prove you know more than them; this IS going to come back to haunt you and you're going to find out the real world is a Hell of a lot different than the virtual world. You might even lose your job, or not even be hired for a job if you don't learn how to behave (which might require you to seek professional help in real life).

If I was still a moderator here, you would have been BANNED ages ago under the No Spamming and User Harassment guidelines the UBI Forums adopted in early 2007 -- Something I know you know nothing about because it's a behind-the-scenes policy the company implemented because of complaints from users like you.

You can consider this a "personal attack" if you want -- And no doubt this post will probably no be erased by Hanky, or others -- But I think I speak for everybody when I say you are one of the primary reasons no one likes coming to these forums anymore besides the lack of communication on UBI's part.

I have nothing personal against you, but I think you might have some real life issues and should seek diagnosis and treatment because your posting habits are not normal in any way, tone or content.

Hi! No harm done, I read through everything you had to say. I don't have OCD, though what you're saying has merit, but bear in mind that I'm also a student in summer college right now, and I'm pretty much there all day from Mondays to Thursdays (GE classes, PSYCH from 10-11:50 am PST, English 202 online, and Statistics from 5-6:50 pm)

If you actually look at my forum activity record (just click on my profile, or ask GSG_9_Rage or another moderator to confirm this) I'm a hell of a lot active during Mondays to Thursdays. I admit that. But that's because I can't go anywhere during that time, because I need those in-between class times to do homework (though I finish homework early fast because I don't procrastinate... <-- That ain't OCD either, that's just called "being a good student" Wink2 )

You're also right, I wasn't here in 2007, I was usually around dBpowerAMP and BeyondUnreal although back then I was busy transferring jobs and working privately (I teach cello but that's technically classified as "under-the-table", so I also had to do some secretary work for a management firm, not to earn money, but so that I qualify for financial aid, FAFSA and stuff when I got into college).

And no, I really don't think your post will be deleted. You're not flaming, you're communicating your ideas in a mature manner, something I admire, and, as you would probably agree, something that I need to work on. (Ironically I used to be a moderator for HaloUT, but that was back when I was a freshman in high school... strange how that much of a time period could change my internet behavior on these forums)

Btw, if you look me up on dBpowerAMP forums or BeyondUnreal forums, you can see that I have none or very little trolling records. In fact, I don't even think I've ever had any infraction points (kind of like warnings, but on PHPNuke forums I think, not sure) ever on BeyondUnreal, and never suffered a suspension on dBpowerAMP...

...And never had any disciplinary things on these forums either!

BLAH! Ok, so point is: Not OCD. No need for treatment. When I applied for music education I had to run through a background check and 3 different examinations with 3 different psychologists. Nothing. Nada. Smile

And of course, I've been wrong in the past on these forums: Take a look at the thread where I talked about the AMD 3800 x2 processor, I had accidentally said it was 7.2 ghz, which it actually isn't! And of course, I apologized to everyone for my mistake, and moved on.

Anyway, Off Topic so I'm going to stop.

Thank you developers for listening to us about moving the camera view when we are in cover. I never thought they would listen when I suggested this along time ago, but it's great to know they listened.

I hope GRAW2 looks at this change in RainbowSixVegas2, so they can eliminate the 3rd person cheating on that game.

This was the only reason I stopped playing RSV2, I got so tired of people being in cover on a corner and waiting for me to come down the hallway, then pop out and shoot. Now it's fair game. Now they have to lean out to see, which give us out in the open a chance to aquire them as a target.

Thank you so much Developers for this camera change, thank you thank you thank you.

How is the cover mode nerfed? By not allowing you to see over your shoulder with your back against a wall and around a corner?

I am one of the old school Rainbow Six gamers that still hangs out around here, I am not one of these new R6 gamers that have to be coddled by having something as a cover system. Playing RS, one had to literally stick one's head out to see if there was an enemy around (be it AI or human depending on game type or mode).

There were also no respawns in any R6 games prior to Letdown. This is where the linear levels first started along with the cheesy Hollywood-like voice acting and the removal of R6 operatives and the loss of playing an actual team and just a character.

I actually suggest it was whiners that nerfed the R6 series to begin with, starting from Raven Shield (by wanting the Unreal engine to be used).

Amen. Agree <-- VERY strongly. (Except for the Unreal Engine part, the developers were also thinking about it, before/during/after the community [you, me, everyone else back then] suggested the idea.)

Hands down, though, you're right nonetheless about Raven Shield being the first "to begin with" (with regards to that slowly trickling transition to what Ubisoft calls "appealing to a wide audience"... Ugh)

The question is; Will the new patch actually address the problems it claims to?

I seem to remember on RSV1 that each and every patch supposedly fixed the issue of ingame chat not dissapearing at all... However the only time the text started to disappear was after the 1.05 or 1.06 update...

I really didn't want to see the R6 franchise move to the Unreal engine. I was content with the home built RSE engine. Actually, I still am.

I'd actually like to see some close quarter take down, just like eailer today me and this one guy got into a close danger close gun fight we kept some how dodging each other then we both had to reload luckly I had my buddy there but come on a a CQC attack or an quicker pistol draw would have been eaiser then run around in circles while I had to reload.

suppressed firearm. if you get the jump on someone from behind and dont want to alert his buddy in the next room, one 9mm to the back of the head should do just fine... waaaay more efficient, quicker, and more silent than a grab+struggle+knife slit attack.

using a knife on someone is usually not a silent kill, except in hollywood movies.

and the whole thing with running dry on your primary in a tight situation, instead of reloading/bunnyhopping the best thing to do would be to draw your sidearm (not a melee attack). and in the case of R6, i definitely agree they REALLY need a much quicker sidearm draw.

A quicker sidearm draw(sales managers at Ubi take notice: COD4 has this! But please no knives...) and a slower more realistic grenade pull would be very nice if that was added to the High Stakes mode.

I'd also like to see Blind fire and sprinting sideways(who ever came up with this!?) gone in High Stakes.

BTW the reactions have been positive from my friends and more people are going to order a copy. Looks like i'll be finally playing this game in a few more days.

How well is this game doing anyways? Are there enough people playing Attack & Defend?

Wow...they took longer to fix this game than Kaos did with Frontlines. I might actually go out and buy it again once the patch is out and see how the community here handles it.

    WK77,

From an admin point of view it was a good decision to move to the unreal engine. It provided more flexibility, better admin functions, autodownload, solid remote admin, and much more than the old engine (IGOR? from RSE I think).

Addittionally, the unreal editor allowed for easier map making which resulted in exponentionally more maps for and from the community at large.

Say what you will about the gameplay blemishes (ie grenade and ladder bugs etc) and UBI's inability to fix them - gee that seems to be a prevalant theme for UBI... Hmmm "unable to" or "unwilling to", I wonder which it is? Anyway, the unreal engine was a better choice in regards to admin and maps than what was previously available.

    ---------------------------------
What UBI needs is not "Hype" but candor and honest communication.

love the new aces level, just wish they would have made it more of an incentive. meaning, give us an incentive to continue on it, more camos, more equipment, something.
