Not that it makes any difference to me since the gameplay will be the same but, I finish the SP campaign in Middle level of difficulty and I ended up with Seargent Major (top enlisted Rank you can have in the military I believe), then I proceeded to do another SP Campaign on Realistic (same gameplay but more chokepoints and Super Duper you-can't-kill-me-with-a-headshot AI) and I kept racking up the points and it kept giving me a higher rank everytime but, eveytime it was the same SM rank... What Gives?

You can't get to General (or whatever the higher rank is) if you don't play online? Is that how it goes!

Again, I really don't care about it, just found it funny and strange at the same time since given UBI's history for botching things up, I thought it was probably one of those bugs/glitches that don't happen in any of their million dollar computers Veryhappy

What does it take to get a simeple answer from UBI about the PC? If you guys think the Vegas 2 forums are crowded with hate & Negative posts from the PS3 and the few 360 folks, wait until the PC game is launched... Wink2

Maybe it's antipiracy. See, if you don't have a legal copy, you can't go online, and without going online, you're denied what other gamers have opportunity for. In this case, to achieve the rank of General --> Elite.

But, quite honestly in my opinion, it's not worth it to buy this game. Originally, a relative of mine was supposed to get me this game, but believe it or not, I got the game from a friend who bought it the same day and gave it to me after the game wouldn't run on his computer.

But I'm still on dialup...

You could rank all the way up offline on the console versions.. There was even a handy glitch in the first chapter that let you max out in a few hours. Unless they made it different for the PC for some reason, it shouldn't matter if you're playing online or offline, solo or with other people.

Well, we all know this was a straight port so it should work the same as the console version. Oh well, like I said before, I could care less but I was just wondering how many types of Master Seargents are there! Veryhappy

Ranking system was well thought out, however having a skill based match making system would have allowed ALL players to enjoy good online competition.

Well, technically I think the top Non-commissioned officer rank is either Sergeant Major or Warrant Officer, but Warrant Officer is kind of a specialized rank that can be sort of in between NCO and Commissioned officer. Warrant Officers are usually high ranking NCO's or some kind of specialist.

I am a little disappointed that the top rank in this game is not even a real rank. Cool insignia though.

Your right. "Elite" reminds me of HALO.
