Really? If I am not mistaken, you have closed posts and even edited posts in the past. How is that not censorship?

That's not censorship, that's just making sure people follow the forum rules, duplicate threads get closed, and usually directions to the correct thread or forum are given.
Editing posts is something that is also sometimes necessary, especially when someone posts material that is NOT suitable for all age groups, as one member did earlier today, and was dealt with.
Games may have different age ratings, but Ubi's forums are rated for all ages, so as long as people understand that, and members stay within the Terms of Use, they're free to post whatever they like.

It doesn't matter how you put it, it is still censorship. I do not argue that censorship is bad, but don't pretend not to be censoring people when you really are.

Once again, I do not censor anyone. If someone posts their opinion in a mature manor, with no inappropriate language or flaming ect, then posts don't get edited. If a post does get edited, the only thing edited is what is against the forum rules, the persons main opinion (assuming that opinion isn't flaming other members or anything like that) stays there. But if you flame somebody, use racial slurs, ect.... I'm not letting that fly.

I am not an employee of Ubisoft. Therefor, everything I say is my own opinion unless otherwise stated.

According to Webster's dictionary, censor is defined as: to examine in order to suppress or delete anything considered objectionable; also : to suppress or delete as objectionable <censor out indecent passages>.

If you change or delete ANYTHING that someone posts here, that is called censoring them. Plain and simple. And because this is Ubi's forum and you are a "moderator" for them, you have the right to do that in order to "protect" the community. No matter how you word it, you are censoring people. Plain and simple. Stop trying to kid yourself into thinking it is something else.

By the way, for someone who has some "authority" on these forums you should know that it is "etc" and NOT "ect." It means "et cetera," not "ec tetera."

The definition of censor that you are using is different than what you just posted. You are saying that we censor people like we don't let them express their opinion which is entirely untrue. We censor out inappropriate content, yes.

Also, don't be a grammar nitpicker. It was late at night, and combined with the fact that I had done a lot yesterday, I was very tired. There is no need for you to try and attack my grammar.

When did I ever imply that you do not allow people to express their opinion? I started by stating a fact that you edit posts and lock them. Then I posted the definition straight out of a dictionary.

You are putting words in my mouth, and if you choose to use such tactics I cannot have an intelligent conversation with you.

Censorship is censorship, and whether you want to admit it or not, you are a censor. I have not argued that what you had been doing is "evil" and "wrong;" I had been arguing that you claim that you never censor people when you probably do it almost every day that you are on these forums.

And I can be a grammar hack if I want to. It makes you and our fellow Americans look stupid when we fail to use the language properly. I was only trying to correct a mistake that I see often. When I make a mistake like that I would want someone to correct me. And I will correct people all I want because that is one thing you cannot stop me from doing because it is not against forum rules.

Professor, I think it is now clear from the beginning that the type of censorship we were talking about were two completely different things. A small misunderstanding such as this turned into something that got bigger than it should have.

Great, not 1 but 2 moderators Krapping on the Original Poster's thread but I get a PM warning me about spamming the forums? Blink Roll Eyes

Aside from the lack of communication from UBI we also have a lack of consistency from the CM's & FM's here.

If you mods puts this much effort on trying to get us some news from UBI, we wouldn't be having this conversations. Wink2

---------------- 0 ----------------- 0-------------
What does it take to get a simeple answer from UBI about the PC? GRAW I & II, Vegas 1 & 2 were throwned to the Lion's den and now FC2 is going to suffer the same fate? How Proud are you UBI?

Yeah Want2Snipe, I know. Razz That is my fault.

About the news..... I've said this many times before, we hear what you hear. It's an unfortunate fact. I can't walk up to people at Ubi and smack them in the head asking for info. Unless someone wants to pay for my plane ticket Wink

I have more then enough PC to Run the Game and Im not a Noob, Im beginning to think that this game is just a "Lemon". any help or advice on getting the game working properly would be much appreciated.

    thanks

try taking out of sli mode this game doesnt utilize sli very well i have 2 8800 gt's oc edition from bfg and i get less fps in sli and have more problems running game then if i use one card

Probably not the game itself as I get a 50+ frame increase on SLI, same thing for the rest of my clan mates..

Probably something with your motherboard. Maybe even because you are using AMD with nVidia, heard something that nVidia cards do better with Intel and ATI cards do better with AMD chips. Not so sure about this though, might be BS.. But, it could possibly be the game as you said. =P

@ OP: What are your computer specs? Maybe try reinstalling your game.. Can't help you without your specs, sorry Frown

Mighty, I have that exact same problem. Had it from day 1 of owning this game. The only way I got the game to run online is to work it through Hamachi. And yes, before you ask, I'm ticked about it too.

All I wrote in my sig was a quote from a forum user. Something along the lines of "If Ubi released a game called Rainbow Six: Gayness Removed, then I would SOOO totally buy it!" And then I wrote, "agreed" with a smiley

I never know whether the mods are on our side or not. Don't take it personally, but the moderators are probably (unspokenly) bound not to say stuff like, "Yeah, we hate Ubisoft too!" because they'd lose their moderator status for it. They probably can't say a lot of stuff that's on their minds, or maybe they've accepted the ways of Ubisoft.

    Who knows.

What I do know is that they ARE doing their job of moderating.

[However, I hate censorship too, and I actually do agree with Professor that there is censorship going on on these forums. I have been a victim of censorship on these forums MANY times.]

I don't take sides. Taking sides would mean I'm biased, and I am not biased. Believe me, I have expressed my feelings about Ubi on these forum many times. I do not like the way Ubi is taking the R6 series. I hate the way they are taking it.
