Ok, I was wondering, in the next patch can you include some code so that when new terrorists spawn they don't just spawn in random rooms. I've had it happen MULTIPLE times where I've been through a room, checked it over completely, the room has only one exit, I head back towards the door and get shot in the back.
I may be the only one, I hunting down terrorists, but I don't like it when they spawn behind me and kill me when there is no possible way for them to do that. 9 times out of 10 if I loose a terrorist hunt map it's because some guy spawned behind me and shot me when I just finished clearing a room. I've even seen the terrorists just "appear" in the middle of my screen and I've shot them before they had a chance to move. In all honesty it just makes the game un-realistic and annoying when that happens. |

You're not the only one. It is one of the problems from the first Vegas that they said they fixed... but didn't.

There's been endless cussing and discussing on this problem since the game came out. Hopefully it can be fixed but maybe there's nothing that can be done. It might be as simple as limiting spawns to a certain distance away from any player. It might not be that simple to implement though. Don't expect any type of reply from Ubi.

Right now terrorist hunt in Vegas 2 is basically smash TV in first person view. However, since T hunt was like this in the first vegas, it's highly unlikely that they're going to change the way it is. Sucks pretty bad, because terrorist hunt is the worst part of the game, which is weird for a rainbow six title.

Ive kind of gotten used to it for the most part but last night i had a really annoying yet humorous occurance. I was playing the murdertown map as you go up the stairs on the right side of the map, outside of your spawn building, I saw one guy at the top and plinked him off. I then proceeded up the stairs and looked left and swept my view to see that no enemies were around. As i backed over the plank to cover me rear i backed into an unaware bot that had spawned as i was backing up.....i so wish i had that one on fraps

Having installed this and viewed the files, I notice it looks a lot like the sort of stuff that we discovered over in this thread: http://forums.ubi.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/1991064316/m/2441080556 That said, a lot of his claims are somewhat bold. It fixes spawning behind you? Rooms remain clear? The AI is more tactical and doesn't just rush you? I'd be very, very surprised if these claims all proved to be true. I couldn't help but notice in the PlatformSpecificConfigPC.ini file he's set the game up to only spawn 4 terrorists at a time. That's really very low, and I think the mod only appears to make the terrorists seem more tactical because in truth, they haven't actually been spawned yet. Whether or not it works, I'll post back with my findings, but I think it's fair to say the OPs request for a vastly improved Terrorist Hunt mode in an upcoming patch still deserves serious attention from the developers. |

It's all good mate. Every bit helps. The more people we have trying to figure this out the better, because it doesn't sound like Ubisoft are going to come to our aid anytime soon.
I thought I'd set MaxTerrorist to 60 (effectively having them all spawn in one go) before firing this up, just to see if the AI truly has been improved, but unfortunately the majority of them will still rush you, just as before. I tried it on the Oil Refinery map on high density. 50 terrorists. From the start, take an immediate left and then cover behind the two barrels. You don't even have to fire off a shot, and they'll come at you. By the time it's over that 50 will be down to around 20. At this point it's fair to say modifying a bunch of settings in ini files isn't really going to fix the problem. I'd really love to see this game mode fixed, because as the OP said, it's infuriating to be shot by a tango that you know wasn't there a moment ago and couldn't possibly have made his way to that spot. |

Vent what files did you look at? Maybe just the Config files did you know that the install also has the file: R6Game.uppc Were you able to look at this file? If so how? I had to make my own way to open it. If you were able to open it in any other way please tell me as I would be very interested. There is a very good reason to why its set to 4 because of the code changes. If you put it to 60 you will be over run by them. Because it very well reverted back to the original code. Hope this helps all those in your struggle to have a good game play for TH. |

Here's my take on the whole debacle:
The "spawn at start" Mod clearly proves that spawning them at the same time doesn't make computers blow up like some people predicted. Other games had enemies spawn at start (Swat 4, anyone?) with beautiful results. What's the difference? The developers actually had enemies run away, take cover, hold ground, etc., instead of running towards the first sound of gunfire. Think about it: realistically, if you were a baddie hanging out at your lair, and heard a big commotion, would you run blindly towards it? no, you might head towards the noise, but stop and take cover, hold position, wait for the enemy to come to you. So, WHY can't Ubisoft A) Spawn them all at start; B) have terrorists who are alerted react differently, take cover, run away, face the direction of the last gunshot, anything but ALL rushing out at once? C) is it also too much to ask a programmer to figure out a way to have the AI NOT enter a room when there's a pile of 3 or more bodies in the doorway? Maybe have the AI run away if 2 or more terrorists get killed within 5 feet of them? SOMETHING to prevent them from blindly running into a deathtrap? These are my suggestions. |

To the OP: You aren't the only one. The terrorist spawns are absolutely ridiculous. This was a problem that plagued Vegas 1 as well. UBI "fixed" this problem by making terrorists spawn not only right in front of you like they did in the last game, they often spawn right BEHIND you now. This is so incredibly stupid and unsophisticated for a "realistic" shooter on "next-gen technology."
It's just sad that the older Rainbow games had superior terrorist spawns on inferior technology. |

i've been in a room cleared it turned round and 6 spawn. with 3 seconds to acted no prb if u play normal mode but i play realistic

well maybe because we play 4 player... and 1-2 guys always watch the backs... we dont just run around and kill ... we take our time and watch each others back..... that is the way it is in real life.... the only sucky part of the spawning like they do...
I was doing single story mode... and while the 1 guy was disarming the bomb in the train and the other guy was trying to keep the train there.. I went on top of the building and a guy spawned RIGHT in front of my face.. so close and so fast that he shot me in the face and killed me... oh well now I knew and am more cautions.... but that is my take on it.. my personal oppinion and take it as that... is UBI has always made games better than the rest of the field... expecially the Rainbow six series I have found better than the GRAW series.. have owned tons of them and we still rotate through them....... rogue spear, raven shield, r6v1, r6v2, graw 1, graw 2 and some others.... always have been impressed with the graphics and even the AI has been getting better.... |

Yeah I knew about that uppc file, but no, I wasn't able to open it. The reason I maxxed out the MaxTerrorist setting is because it seems that what almost everyone wants is to have all the bad guys spawn at the beginning. Unfortunately as I noted, it seems to be almost impossible to make radical sweeping changes to the AI without some modding tools, and of course, Ubisoft have no intention of helping out with this. |
