...Why is that, Ubisoft?

(1) You're posting an illegal crack that violates YOUR OWN RULES on piracy
(2) You stole someone else's crack. Couldn't bother making your own? Sheesh. Now THAT'S French for you!

EDIT: proof here

EDIT 2:

HEY MODERATORS: If you're going to change my bloody sig, will you please bloody tell me instead of just deleting it with no reason given? And tell me what's wrong with it. I don't find quoting someone else a crime. This isn't World War II paranoia.

Oh come now...it's not that bad...its not like they took the command line parameters and instructions that the community came up with to get as close as we could to SADS and put it up as their own creation/solution. Now that would be embarrasing.

Bump. So more people can laugh in the face of Ubisoft.

So Ubisoft says we can't talk about no-cd cracks on this forum even though it fixes all the cd protection errors everyone has, and yet they STEAL a no-cd crack from a software piracy release group and still have the balls to call it their own.

What two-faced hypocrits. What little respect remained for Ubisoft is now all lost. Epic fail.

I'm sure ubi did this as people where frustrated at d2d which actually supports the d2d version and patching the d2d version. not ubi as people seem to think

I'm not sure what you're trying to say here. There's no practical defense for Ubisoft's actions.

But my point was. Ubisoft stole & used a no-cd crack from an illegal pirate release group as a means to fix a problem that they created. If they needed to make a no-cd crack then fine (even though it's against our EULA and Ubi said we can't) but make your own don't steal it. Lazy thiefs.

If this is true, it is pretty embarrassing.

Once again, UBI refuses to make even a simple announcement when they know their customers are sitting here waiting.

What a joke.

All I'm trying to say is that I'm pretty sure that this was the motivation by doing what they did, I'm not saying it was the right decision, nether am I defending Ubisoft, my point where simply to illustrate that since D2D are not doing there job by supporting "there product" ubisoft must have been frustrated and selected the quickest solution.

Honestly I personally don't find there decision to be all that bad, however I do respect anyone that does.

Edit: now who's to blame for the fact that D2D does not release patches for vegas 2 is another question.. Is it ubisoft that don't sent the new content to D2D or is it D2D who are real slow at releasing the patches ??

I know for a fact that D2D have been extremely slow in the past, in fact so slow that GSC decided to release the D2D patches them selves for Stalker. Same did Vivendi for TimeShift.
If D2D still practically don't care to release the patches in due time I can for sure understand why UBISoft would do as they did.

Ubisoft should possibly have coded the exe file them selves, but I guess theres a good reason why they did not (as in no coders available at the time)

If that were the case, you'd think in their frustration they'd at least let the customers know by way of a simple announcement how D2d users could "temporarily resolve this issue" by using this file.

Just another step in the downward spiral that Ubi is taking to their failure.

Yes a simple "Dear customers that purchased R6:V2 through D2D, This third party distributor has been slow at releasing the necessary patches to allow D2D users to play the game after the recent patch was released, so we at Ubisoft have had to temporarily distribute a fix that removes the requirement to have the original disk in the drive. We apologize for any inconvenience and please enjoy the game."

There, no fuss, no muss. Maybe I should copyright my paragraph, so they don't steal it for a press release, lol.

The devs took the saying "what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas!", to heart. That's why they refuse to remove any of the bugs or glitches!

okay so if this case is true... and there is proof aswell;
1) Cant Ubisoft be sued for it? (they could imprison themselves for violating their own copyright yay)
2) Using a No-CD crack can end up as a virus, if this had been so, the person who put it on their own servers is violating their very own security measures in the company (MANY companies do not allow downloading of this kind)
3) Mystically - Trying to say anything to defend ubisoft as a company in this case would be fighting a lost cost, stop now while your ahead

I'm really not trying to defend Ubi, I where simply offering a motive, if it's justified or not is up to anyone to decide. As I say they should have coded the exe file them selves, but never mind my point doesn't seem to get trough anyway.

We're looking into this further as this was not the UK Support team that posted this, however if it is an executable that does not need the disc I doubt it has come from an external source. There'd be very little point doing so when we already own the original unprotected executeable.

As soon as we find out more about this we'll let you know.

Ubisoft programmed the game. Can you programme a game?

Why would the programmers of the game need to steal code?
