Anyone? I've been unable to play the game since I bought it. This is massively frustrating. My friend receives the same problem. Why have Ubi made such a difficult game to set up? I played Starcraft almost a decade ago and that was just: Login, create account, start playing. Can Ubi not touch on Blizzards ease-to-use system, after 10 years of internet gaming?

I logged the problem with Ubi and received the following email

quote:

We will assume your issue has been resolved if we do not hear from you within 48 hours.

Nope, I didn't miss the last bit out, that's where the message ended. I replied to the email and got an undeliverable message. I had to log in at the time and I was so angry with their poor response that I didn't bother. I mean, I know they don't have an answer to this problem that has basically ruined being able to play this game online with my friends. Today I got the following:

quote:
We have not heard from you concerning your request for support in the 48 hours since we sent you a response. Consequently, we have changed the status of your question to SOLVED.

So I had a bit of a chuckle at that. I work in IT and we give our colleagues more time to respond than that.

So i logged on and can see the resolution:

quote:
The game does not support playing through http proxy. The player needs
direct (real IP) or NATed (most intranets) internet connection. In case a
firewall is present, the player needs to open some ports. Here they are:

6668 TCP (IRC servers(chat in lobby))
40000 to 42999 TCP (Various Ubi.com servers)
44000 UDP (CDKey servers)
45000 UDP (NAT server)
42500 UDP ( CDKey local port, can be configured by player through game config
files, "setvar net_ubi_cdkey_port = <desired port>", defaults to 42500)
8888,8889 UDP UDP (The Game itself, can be configured by player through game
config files, "setvar net_game_port = <desired port>" defaults to 8888; "setvar
net_lan_match_maker_port = <desired port>", defaults to 8889 )

The prots are already open, but I'm a bit baffled by the http proxy' and 'real IP' I mean, I'm genuinely a bit ??? at what they suggest I'm doing wrong. Help anyone?

Hehe I tried to contact Ubi technical support team and there was no answer in my email as well but I could then find it on the Ubi site I raised the ticket on. Answer is kind of lame but see for yourselves. Btw what kind of operating system are you guys hosting those games on?

""Its not working because the game DOES NOT support windows vista 64bit. There no technical support that we cannot provide to fix this, sorry about that.
Try to ask your friends to host the game and then joy in, does it work like that?

Kind regards

Ubisoft Technical Support ""

For anyone still interested in this..
Found the solution. 1.Get latest version of Hamachi. 2. (Always)Run as admin. 3. In Windows go to Manage network connections/Advance/Advance Options/Adapter Bindings - move Hamachi to the top of the list.(if you can't see menu I mentioned above..use icons you see to make that menu visible :-) 4.Ofc you might wanna check your soft. firewall/antivirus firewall/Win firewall if Hamachi is allowed. Also if behind router you can set UDP port you specify (45000-60000) and set the same port in Hamachi - not sure though if this is neccesary :P 5. Then in Hamachi go online, Create or Join network. Don't worry if you can not get response when pinging. Might be firerwall problem but gaming works just fine. Then just start a game, go to local network and enjoy. I play on "[HT]H3/H4/H5 - Might and Magic" - name and password! Good luck Smile
