I and many other users get the 'host has canceled the game' error message whi...
Nope, I didn't miss the last bit out, that's where the message ended. I replied to the email and got an undeliverable message. I had to log in at the time and I was so angry with their poor response that I didn't bother. I mean, I know they don't have an answer to this problem that has basically ruined being able to play this game online with my friends. Today I got the following:
quote:
We have not heard from you concerning your request for support in the 48 hours since we sent you a response. Consequently, we have changed the status of your question to SOLVED.
So I had a bit of a chuckle at that. I work in IT and we give our colleagues more time to respond than that.
So i logged on and can see the resolution:
quote:
The game does not support playing through http proxy. The player needs
direct (real IP) or NATed (most intranets) internet connection. In case a
firewall is present, the player needs to open some ports. Here they are:
6668 TCP (IRC servers(chat in lobby))
40000 to 42999 TCP (Various Ubi.com servers)
44000 UDP (CDKey servers)
45000 UDP (NAT server)
42500 UDP ( CDKey local port, can be configured by player through game config
files, "setvar net_ubi_cdkey_port = <desired port>", defaults to 42500)
8888,8889 UDP UDP (The Game itself, can be configured by player through game
config files, "setvar net_game_port = <desired port>" defaults to 8888; "setvar
net_lan_match_maker_port = <desired port>", defaults to 8889 )
The prots are already open, but I'm a bit baffled by the http proxy' and 'real IP' I mean, I'm genuinely a bit ??? at what they suggest I'm doing wrong. Help anyone?
