Normally the profiles folder are the place where the ?profiles? (players names) are stored. Look inside the folder, if you see another folder called ?saves? there, then this is indeed a profile.

Those are needed so that the game knows just who is playing it. In general, unless you want to copy the folder to make sure that you have your save games in a secure place, you don?t ever have to be in the profiles folder anyway. So my simple suggestion would be; if the game works, don?t mind about the folders there.

celestialheavens, under downloades, is a good start.
So is Elrath.

If you still would like more after that, I would suggest doing a Google (or equivalent) search for: Heroes 5 maps. That?ll give you lots more sites that have H5 maps.

As for how to get the maps into the game after downloading, it?s described in the FAQ on the first page, first post, of this very topic.

What is this bull****?

Heroes of Might and Magic V has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.

I need some help on the game heroes of might and magic V. I get an error in the middle or at the end of the loading screen which brings it back to the windows screen. The error says "Heroes of Might and Magic V has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience."

The details of the error say " AppName: h5_game.exe AppVer: 1.0.0.27 ModName: h5_game.exe
ModVer: 1.0.0.27 Offset: 001862e1"

I know that the graphics card is okay, because I can play "HOMM V: Hammers of Fate" without copping the same error. I got both the HOMM 5 games in the silver edition case. I assume that Hammers of Fate uses the same requirements as the first one.

I tried to install the HOMM V 1.4 patch, and it does not pick the game up as being installed, thus quitting the installation. I'm an australian, I bought my game from an australian store, and i have no idea which patch to get. US, EU? It depresses me cause they take a while to download.

Any guidance you can offer me as to getting this game to work???

I?m afraid that I personally can?t help you. I have no knowledge of tech related stuff. In fact, all I really do is ?grab and add? the questions I see repeated over and over. (With the given answer of course.)
The only suggestion I can give you is to try it in the tech forum.

Maybe Unreal_az can help you; he?s pretty good with the tech stuff.

I just bought the silver edition of HoM&M 5 (complete pack with both HoM&M 5 and HoF)

I got the version 2.0 of the game installed, it followed with the game.

And from the other games i always loved to do campaigns!
But after a day i completed all three campaigns

So i check your FAQ in hope of getting a link to some site where it maybe was possible to download some more campaigns and see that you mention a campaing named: The Ship, mission 3 of the Inferno Campaign. I don't have an Inferno Campaign at all. I looked everywhere but i dont seem to find it!

You also mention a campaign map named: The Trap, Haven Campaign. I can't find that either


So i was wondering, is this a map i need to download from somewhere or complete anything to activate it?

I?m not sure, but I think those are the campaigns that came with HoF.
(Version 2.0 is HoF.)
The other campaigns, to which ?the ship? is one of the parts, are from Heroes 5 itself. As far as I know you can only play those if you start Heroes 5 with the Heroes 5 CD/DVD. On those you also won?t see any dwarfs though.
Anyway, start specifically Heroes 5 and you should see the campaigns. The first few are REALLY easy, but that?s only because those are really more of a trainer.

As for finding campaigns online; you won?t. Online you will only find individual fan made maps. But, there are some damn good maps there to find.

I'm playing the original campaign again and noticed that the bug on "The Trap" map was solved after patch 1.4 (now the boots are visible all the time).
I know this is a late information but I guess it's new on this thread.

How come the add to the autoexec cfg file for cheating is nolonger avalible with the updates after beating the game i have continued to try new things with diff skills now I cant perhaps it could have changed i dont know but Im now going to have to remove the game n start over this sucks!

OK, I have searched all the forums I can and have not seen anyone with this issue. I have purchased the game at BB, installed it, played it for weeks and weeks with the CD constantly in the drive. Lately, I continually get an error on starting the game that says I am using a backup disk and to please insert the original HOMM V disk. IT IS THE ORIGINAL HOMM 5 DISK. I have to click it to start about ten times, then suddenly it works again. It's very annoying - how can I fix it??? Thanks!

I read about the online key thing and it said that it was on the front cover, where on the front cover, mine doesnt have it, or do you mean the CD-Key?

It's the CD-key, and it's on the back of the manual. That's the code you'll need to online play.

Really odd. Unfortunately I have no clue how to fix this. I'd suggest you post this problem on the Tech forum. But that particular error has to do with SecureRom (the Copy Protection software)...so contacting them might be a good idea as well.

Ok i put the CD-Key in to play online but its said connection timedout: error code 8.22.1, whats going on?

Have you updated to the newest patch yet? This latest patch dealt with the changes they did to the Ubi.com servers.

If it's not that, you might want to check to see if you've got the correct ports open and your firewall disabled.
