Yeah.. im trying to play HoMM through hamachi, i created a server on hamachi, and my friend has already joined it but still when i start HoMM and create a server on it he still cant see it.
So my question is, how on earth is it able to get HoMM to work with hamchi so he can join my game. |

Network Connections - in the menu - > Advanced -> Advanced Settings..
Under Adapters And Bindings choose hamachi and use arrows to put it on top in the list Reboot and problem solved. |

I had the same problem and I tried your solution...
It works !!! Thanks a lot man  I then tried a ffa with 2 friends and simultaneous turns work wonder. But we noticed that ghost cannot pass some neutral stacks so they werent able to scout opponents territory ? |

Wow cool, So maybe they tweaked ghost mode? I really should give it a shot under TOTE.. Not being able to scout opponents territory is great since that ability really ruined alot of the startegy in the game. |

i have a little problam with hamachi. me and a friend tried to play Heroes V TOTE through hamachi and it all worked fine until we started to play. the game worked extremly slow and with a lot of lagging and eventually disconnected. i tried the solutions in this thread but nothing helped...

Probably it's just the Internet connection, I don't think the hamachi configuration has something to do with this. Playin' HoMM V on-line is hell of a challenge anyway...

i don't think that's it.... both me and my friend have a 2.5MB connection and we played loads of other games and they all worked fine (Company of Heroes,Unreal 3,Supreme Commander+ SC Forged alliance...)

2 GB ram 2.4Ghz duel core CPU Nvidia 8600GTS my friend's is the same only the GPU is 8600GT i think it's k no? or did i forget some important component? |

wouldn't that effect other games as well? i mean, we played Supreme commender Forged Alliance and it worked fine. i just don't know where to look anymore. this forum is my last hope....

Someone should write a "how to" for hamachi + heroes!
Oh, and can someone tell me in short (because I'm stupid *lol*  ) what the whole "The game does not support playing through http proxy" means?

I had the same problem for a long time. Just switched to Vista and was experiencing the same problem. It's definately a Firewall problem cause I tried disabling it and then everything worked fine. Basically, if you and your friend can ping! each other on Hamachi it will work in TOTE. Set your firewall to allow Hamachi for staters. Then also make sure that both of you have the EXACT same version not just of TOTE/HOMM, but also the map you're playing. If either of you edited the map or dl a different version of it, it won't work. Basically just send your friend the map you're going to play and make sure it's located in the correct folder, i.e. TOTE/maps/...
Hope this helps cause I know how much it sucks. |

What does this mean?: Set your firewall to allow Hamachi for staters.
And it's not that we can't find each other on Hamachi, we can even play for a few seconds, but then the connection is dropped? |
