mod, a.i doesnt cheat.(fixed bug)

edit in new version;
in my old version I changed bonus modifiers to 0, but in effect it made it so the cpu had no chance of getting luck or morale bonuses, so now I made them to things that arent 0, but close to 0 http://www.uploading.com/?get=W51QQHJ8 or http://rapidshare.de/files/22063513/cpunocheatv2.rar.html I tested it out and it works ok now, as in a enemy hero with 3-5 luck will usually make its troops be lucky.(so any modifier above 0 makes it work ok, im guessing they made it so when 0 is chosen it sets up a tag not to allow the a.i to get morale/luck). changed it so all the tiny 1%-2% bonus modifiers that cpu get are gone, also did the changes that let the a.i use any spell and use all the good algorithms in normal to heroic, also made it so it wouldnt flee as fast, and that its search algorithms work for a larger area(wont matter cept largest maps) and a few other modifiers. cpu might take longer, but in my testing it didnt. install; extract it to ..\heroes 5\data\ uninstall; delete gamemechanics directory from data directory. AI cheating???

its minor cheats like getting 1.17% bonus here and there in combat modifiers(luck/morale and other things vs neutrals, but all under 2%). Also around 1.428% bonus gold/resources per day for buildings it cant buy(its given as 1 payment at the end of the week and not daily). now each one alone is under 2%, but theres many so in long games of a few months it shows, while in short games it barely makes a difference. to check some of these cheats, I actually increased them ten fold to see what they do at the other extreme(large % value). |

I want the AI to stop bull-rushing me as soon as possible. The AI ignores it's own dwellings and treasures just to bull-rush into my territory and get's killed, making the games very short/boring.

But only one thing (without using your mod).. I noticed another abnormal strenght of computer heroes.. I met 2 green (AI) heroes..and both have army like me in my main hero.. it's just impposible to buy (population limit it) 2x bigger army like player.. Is this fixed too? |

I checked they dont have higher growth at all, but sometimes have better luck with neutrals and in the first few weeks sometimes buy many heroes(lots of lower tier units and units from diff factons), also in heroic they should be at least 2 weeks ahead of you because of their starting resources.

Are you sure that the gold & resouce bonuses are so low??? In a game that I recently played against Haven AI [Map == MP Rise to Power on Heroic diff] I can account for the AI getting the equivalent of roughly 7,000 per day and possibly a LOT more than that. This is based on having a 100% fully built castle, buying out all troops, having nothing but upgraded troops, etc. all by roughly day 1 of month 2. The number above doesn't even take into account the suspicion that I have that Haven was using training to get impossibly high numbers of Inquisitors [Haven didn't have ENOUGH extra Inquisitors for a join to have made sense]. Also the number of missing Swordsmen just happens to be almost the EXACT number of extra Inquisitors ..... hmmm |

How does the 1.5% AI bonus to income work?? Is it basically 1.5% (on average) per day of everything that it wants to buy EVENTUALLY but can't right now?
Does the bonus count against the unbuilt 30 or so levels of their castle from day 1? Does the bonus count against any unpurchased creatures? Does the bonus count against the AI wanting to make nice mini-artifacts or do training? |

About training...
I played your old mod map from beta and I noticed that the necro player had more paladins from training than wraiths... I did not play against haven yet but to have 3x number of paladins is just insane... maybe I'm a poor player but I hardly manage to train my pesants to archers... |

Akrav, do you believe the following lines are responsible for the AI-cheating?
<SupplyDayIncomes>2</SupplyDayIncomes> <WeakMoneyForDeniedBuildings>0.1</WeakMoneyForDeniedBuildings> If yes... and I saw that you changed the first value from 2 to 1... this value somehow doesn't affect the computers gold-amount/income. I run several tests with values from 0 to 10000 (0;1;10;100;1000;10000) for 1 week and 2 days each and there weren't any differences. I particularly appreciated your tips to edit the files to have maps with a lots of teams in a FFA against computer players. Since we don't have a map editor yet, your tips have extended the replay value for those of us who do not wish to toil in the camp-pain. |

Akrav, great work man!... Thanks for finally figuring out some of the stuff that we've been wondering about the enemy AI for so long now.
When I was using console to check on the AI, I found that the AI doesn't cheat as badly as most people think. The little +bonuses they get do add up, but it wasn't as game-breaking as I had previously thought. Still, that's no excuse for using that to make up for bad base AI programming by Nival. Anyways, keep up the great work! I would be doing a LOT more testing myself if it weren't for a huge exam I have to take in a few weeks. |

from my tests(did tons while watching the cpu pick up stuff and using the developer console); it has to do with random resources across the map, it gives them higher chance to get max amount of resources from the resource they pick up(like resource-luck skill), now im not even sure what the defualt number is for human players. still nothing major and I just changed it to 1 incase 1 is the defualt. this might make a diff on huge sea maps(tons of resources in see), thats if the cpu does pick stuff up(I been watching it and many times it ignores some resources that are just next to it, for a week or so). changing it back to 2 might not make a diff. although in my opinion deleting that line will make them get the defualt amount, same as humans. if you delete things from that file, it actually goes by defualt values set in another spot. an example: if you set it to a large value and then let the a.i play as you and then you as him and reset the game multiple times and stuff, it will always get 4-5 from a thing you will mostly get 3 from. nothing major as I said, since theres barely any resources around and if your set to 1% and its set to 2%, it most likely wont get more than 10 more resources than you per game. |
