I just bought HOMMV gold edition and am installing it now.
afew questions.

1. do i play V then hammers of fate then tribes of the east(are the stories connected in that order)

2. are the patches on the stickies the current patches and is the hammers of fate patch the same as the original 5 patch.

3. do i needa download and install the heroes V/Hammers of fate and the tribes of the east serperatly or are they 1 patch.

4. when i want to play tribes of the east do i load the seperate game up(like Warcraft 3 and it's exp)

edit: 5. and in what order do i needa install the patches eg. 1.4 then 1.5 then 1.6?

1:First you play heroes v, then hammers of fate and then tribes of the east.

2:you'll have to look a bit deeper than that.. go to celestial heavens and they've got a good list of the patches with links.

3:You need patches for each game seperately.

4:yup, and the same with hammers of fate. although if you patch the games, you won't need to change discs

5: yes.
