They aren't all dark elves... 3 of the creatures are monsters. The changes I want for Dungeon are to move the fury to tier 3, replace the minotaur with some other monster (maybe the beholder, since these live underground), bump the hydra to tier 7 and place the manticore at tier 5, with all dragons becoming neutrals that can be summoned.

I can't say I care too much about Stronghold or Fortress (even though I normally like dwarves), but I guess some monsters could be added to either, in place of the orcs/dwarves. Maybe Stronghold could get the Minotaur and Medusa, and Fortress the Troglodyte, or whatever else...

It could be an interesting idea: to replace dragons with other ceratures, and make them summoned like phoenix, different in abilities (but the same formula for stats)

ex:

Dungeon - Hidra + Manticore (summon Black Dragon)

Sylvan - Phoenix (summon Gold Dragon)

Necropolis - Wraith + Dark Night (summon Ghost Dragon)

Dwarves - Thunderbird (summon Magma Dragon)

I would still love to play an enire faction of animals with a Beastmaster as Heroe, with diferent set of spells.
In Love Glomp

spells something like warcries but antagonistic in efect.
ex:

Battlecry vs Defend the Nature - (For one turn increases the Defense of all creatures in hero's army (depending on hero's level) and their Initiative (by +1).

Horde's Anger vs Spirit of the Earth - Selected unit receives healing/resurrection half to the number of creatures in the hero's army.

Ralling Cry vs "something with knowing the teritory" Razz - Increases Luck of all creatures in army for three turns depending on the hero's level.

If there will be races like aliens(eggheads,predators,terminators)
and animals (monkeys,frogs,parrots,crocodiles)
the great atmosphere of this best game in the world will be BROKEN !!! Smash Mad Smash

if any thing i wish they would bring back the classics like cenatuars and bemoths like in hmm4,or level 3 upgrades

also if they make a 6 improve on inferno it is bad
even though i always use inferno the yonly have 1 shooter and they r pretty much pointless

I agree with the concept that they should look back upon the other games, pick out the best factions, and pump them up with 3D graphics and new interesting units. Instead of just taking old factions and putting them in without changing a thing or at most just changing some tier levels, shake up the good stuff just to add life.

Nival have already changed some of the old factions a lot. The differences between the old Dungeon, Stronghold and Fortress and the new ones in particular are enormous (the last one has only the name in common with the HoMM III Fortress), the other have different creature hierarchy, some old buddies have disappeared (why have they discarded the Efreet, I'll never know), new ones have appeared and so on. Also, the series have its "core factions", which must, not should be present if this thing is to remain HoMM, not just another fantasy TBS - Castle (Knight/Haven) and Necropolis (Necromancer) in the first place, but also Dungeon (Warlock) and Tower (Wizard/Academy) are very significant. Inferno WAS a key faction when it was filled with Kreegans, not demons (becouse they were important part of the entire storyline), but in Ashan it's just the camp of your regular insane horned ba$tardz, doing futile and meaningless attempts to kill or/and rule everything, which can be skipped in the next game I think.
If there's to be a new faction, is shouldn't have anything to do with the standard fantasy Tolkien-inspired orc-elf-dwarf bunch (not to mention that all of these trivial guys are already present), but something original. The only problem is that maybe the devs in general are already running out of warehouse-mythologies. Roll Eyes

Most of the time, "something original" = embarassingly ludicrous. I cite all current versions of the D&D Monster Manual as proof.

I don't think anyone doubts that there are plenty of critters out there to choose from for a new faction. It's just a question of whether anyone has the creativity and sense to put them together to create a sustainable faction. I believe there's a 'creative team' involved in the development of a new game, and there's plenty of input from the community, if they bothered looking there.
