I am Xhane, Might&Magic Community Developper.

I’ve joined the team one month ago and I am really glad to be presented to you as I was longing to meet you, discuss with you about Might& Magic and its current events and news.

I am a Heroes of Might&Magic fan since the beginning. I am found of the universe, the game atmosphere, the magic and the turn-based mode, among all the rest of course.

My role is to ensure the communication and information transfer between the dev teams and the community (you ) by answering your questions when possible and by transferring your feedbacks, opinions, crushes, outbursts, etc.

I’ll join all Might&Magic guilds and fan-sites in the coming days, please, accept me and don’t hesitate to contact me by pm if I did not come on your site at the end of the week.

Hey there, it's nice to see new blood in the community, especially a Ubi representative .

What I want to ask is whether we are going to get information about the... "future" of Might & Magic soon? It is really important - we, like Romain de Waubert, keep M&M close to our hearts.

Any chance of leaking things? It doesn't even have to be concrete stuff like "There will be a Naga Faction" [Hint Hint] but just a "There will be 7 factions at the start of the game" would be lovely.

It's nice to see that Ubisoft is really interested in the fans' opinions and feedback.

I'd really like to urge you guys to focus more on the story and on the multiplayer mode. We really need faster multiplayer games.

Welcomed and don't hesitate to join the Tavern here at the Forums though it may be a bit, erh, dusty at the moment. Hopefully activity will pick up again now we'll be getting feedback and a new game soon

And I'll just set my standard two questions:

Any word on Might and Magic X?

And will there be more emphasis on the story in the coming HoMM games than there was in HoMM V?

Hi there, nice to see theyve finally sent someone. We've been starved for news on just about everything to do with the series aside from that offshoot DS game for the past year, anything you can share with us? What sort of opinions or informations are you looking for, just scattered random stuff or something more organized? Is there any current events or news in the first place -- like maybe a game coming in the future? Anything.

Yeah and I agree with the above about story. Heroes V has a terrible story, it is generic as hell and just doesnt compare to Heroes 3 and 4. Probably the worst part of the game, though I actually liked the game overall. Fire all of your current storywriters and hire someone who has more talent and less fluff.

I agree with mitzah that it's nice to see that Ubisoft is interested in the fans' opinions!

2 things I'd really love to see:

* faster multiplayer
* Better AI's, since I never lost a single player game, even on Heroic...

Well, and let the other things be like Homam V, with new (more !) factions and a different storyline!

Is there an estimation on when it will be released?

Pleasantly surprised by how many agree on the story question

And yes, a better AI is an absolute must for HoMM VI.


@Pale_Knight, we pretty much know that they are working on HoMM VI. I don't have the time to find the discussions/info on it just now, but it sounds as though it has been in the making for quite some time. The fact that Xhane is here also indicates that we will get something soon I guess.

Edit: What French presentation is that mtkyebra? I have missed that one - maybe due to the the internet I use being blocked on most fan sites... Guess a good few of the students here have been annoying in the past.

Hi everyone. Im an old fan of the series since '97. I love homm universe and everything about it. I am waiting news about homm6 or anything about it every day, so any info is valuable here.
I still hope we're talking about homm, not M&M, and ... wellcome Xhane!!!

Not to harp on this, but it looks like you're calling it Might & Magic: Heroes V instead of Heroes of Might and Magic V on Twitter. Why are you guys so intent on changing the series title?

I think they are doing it for marketing.

We oldies know it as Heroes of Might and Magic being as it is an offspring from Might and Magic - and frankly it sounds a lot better that way (maybe because we are used to it?).

But they obviously plan on expanding the brand a good deal. Get browser games, FPS games, MMORPGs... and the good old Heroes. Therefore what they want the new players to know and recognise is the "Might and Magic" as a brand rather than as a game in itself. They'll look around (or browse) the game shops, see there is one "Might and Magic" brand game over there and want to test it if they like the other ones. It is more eye catching brand wise than "XXXX XXXX of Might and Magic".

That would also mean that if they actually do make a Might and Magic X it would either have to be damned good in order to not tarnish the brand, or carry another name in order to be on the safe side.

*... Just noticed it is Community Developer. Does that mean the short way to write it would have to be CD? "Nice to see an active CD"... What?
