Hi All, I have a nice gaming rig which consists of a quad core intel cpu, MSI 8800GTS 640MB edtion, 4G of CL4 Ram and Vista home premium OS, the monitor is a Viewsonic 22" LCD.
I have recently purchased a couple of copies of HOMMV so that me and my gal could battle it out electronic style, as we are fans of some of the previous versions of this game. The other computer is a laptop which runs xp, there the game works great, but alas on my gaming rig I get a bizzare effect, it seems every time i got into a casle or change turns, the texture gose back to low / non existent. I go to the video / audio settings and change anything like resolution or anistropic filtering and the textures are back, go into a casle and presto gone again!! Any suggestions, has anyone come across this?
Dude I'm not going to go do a 'leave Britney alone!' On Bill Gates, but whats done is done, any solutions?? Tried turning aero off, and tried over-writing application settings in my graphics card control panel, but nothing same problems, I change a setting ingame screen refreshes, textures are back, go into castle or move a turn and bam! textures gone.
I also Have the same washed out textures on the two expansion packs but not on Vanilla Heroes V. I have googled and searched every forum for a fix and can find nothing. Help!!! I am using vista 32. Q6600. 8800GTX. 4Gig ram. Any help on this would be welcome. Please some one help, I miss the game terribly.
I've got the same problem on Vista + almost exactly the same computer than you've got, only I have a 8800GTS 512Mb. However, my problem went away when I restarted/made a new game. Tried it?
I have vista 32 bit ultimate, AMD Phenom 9600, 4 gigs ocz 800mhz, Msi k9a2 platinum, and a BFG GeForce 8800 gtx oc 768mb gddr3. I'm having the same problem but i noticed when i change the quality to normal from high the textures are fine...Until i go in to the spell book during combat or any other menu that zooms up on the background then its backed to blurry textures...
This has happened to a friend of mine also who was using a 8800GTX. The problem was fixed when he stopped using a no-cd crack. He had puchased the game, I know for a fact, but uses no-cd's for all his games.
If you have used a no-cd crack you so don't always need to get the disc, try reinstalling and not using a crack.
I'm not using a no-cd. I got the game off Steam. Unless steam uses a no cd crack of some kind thats included in the download... I have reinstalled twice and I updated my video driver I also downloaded all the vista ultimate updates but the problem remains....This is kinda funny I can run Crysis on very high, cod4 on high, Frontlines on high, and all my other higher graphics games...
Yes I dl'ed the newest drivers and still same problem.... I'm not sure why but i get the feeling its a vista thing... I'm missing my good ole xp right now...
Ever since I switched from xp I have the tendency to blame vista for the bad things that happen... xp separation anxiety maybe? Just wish I could play this game without it looking like bare rendering and blurry square patches.
