The title says it all.. I have conquered the Silver Cities with Markal, and he is wielding the Staff of the Netherworld. Yet, I cannot curse the cities, no matter what I do. I try entering the city and leaving (as in actually garrisoning Markal and his troops within its walls and then departing).. nothing happens. I tried to use the search function of the forums, but only found out about a bug with 20 bone dragons later in the mission.

Is this a bug, also? And what can I do about it?
I have version 1.5, the Gold Box game.. but I'm very hesitant to patch it further, seeing as last time around when I fiddled around with the patches, I lost the options menu from the game altogether (when I opened it, there was nothing there!), had the game crash every time I tried to progress past the first campaign's 1st level etc etc..

It's the other way. After conquering the city you need to depart and then re-enter it (with the staff).

And why not patch to 1.6? Then you don't need the cd to run it.

you are not alone. I have the same gold editon
and have the 1.6 installd.
