The series dead? Nah, I don't think so. Maybe only HoMM V is half-dead, but not the series. And they know this. At least this title still holds a good ammount of money in its pockets.

The series ain't dead, i mean why bother with HoMM kingdoms then ? Nahh it ain't dead.. just forgotten it seems while Ubisoft seems to be pulling stunts with a bunch of other high profile titles.

I was waiting for too long for that damn patch!
A long time ago there was information on Nival site, that patch is almost done! And that it was good. But then there were some rumors about problems with patch and chineese version of the game. Waiting again... Lately, again some rumors about patch, that it's almost done! And that there will be 2.2 for Hammers of Fate... blah-blah-blah... It's half of the year since game's release! No support! No answers, no info- nothing! Nival's forum's dead! I hope they will NEVER be doing HEROES 6! I hope it'll be another company. I spent my money for that... incomplete product. Bad, very bad.

If they have decided to cancel the patch they should be forthcoming enough to tell us!

Someone "official" on this forum should at least give us a "hint" of the status of the patch!

There is definitely something bad going on. Nothing has happened since the release of Tribes. There hasn't been any patches for those who think there's one or more to be needed, there hasn't been any info about Heroes VI, and there has yet to even be any rumors yet about it. The most to have arrived from my knowledge is simply the poll brought up over at heroesofmightandmagic.com about what you wish to see in HoMM VI and even that is little.

Heroes is not dying, Nival is.

That's fine - it must just make sure it dies after doing the patch.

So how about an official comment? Would be nice to know where we are standing at the very least.

I don't think, that Nival is dying. Maybe they are hardly working on H6?.. But if that's true, they should continue to release fixes for HoMM5!!! If only Fabris could comment that situation with patches......

More seriously there are some very annoying things like being unable to train haven alternates(happened to me today) or divine vengeance that could be fixed.

They instantly put out a patch 2 days after the russian release...but the English version will incorporate all fixes.

KB - the legend is a good game, but it's not heroes!!! I played it already. Nice game, very... good and with fantastic fairytale atmosphere.

I've pretty much given up on caring about any patch for TOTE. So much time has gone by and I rarely even play anymore.

I'm much more interested in hearing something about Heroes 6 since it has already been hinted at by some that it's already being worked on and they've seen some of it.

What would be the point of keeping development of H6 a secret?

If they've abandoned this they could atleast leave the sourcode to someone so that they can continue to patch it, like UFO: Afterlight did.

This way we could get fixes for all the bad spelling and hopefully fix the slow AI.

@greg: To contain information and such, and to ensure that when they announce it things look good so that the first thing they hear isn't a bunch of whiner screaming about something looks bad, even though the game is still in development.

A patch would be very good even for the sake of repairing Ubisoft image.

I dont think the game is in that bad shape in sake of balance but there could be some tweaks done so that some choices/strategies are more desirable and usable.

Ubisoft is apparently working on two mystery projects related to its existing franchises, IIRC. Maybe (most likely) one of them is HVI.
