If you don't give your games the appropriate loving, then how can you expect your customers/fans to love you/your game... I don't think they should ever just stop patching, I mean, I recall a lot of WC3 patches came out well after WoW, and even some Diablo2 patches after both WC3 and WoW. If something is stupidly over powered, it should be fixed, a blatant bug that is ruining the game experience needs to be fixed also, having not yet played ToTe and just running through HommV HoF campaigns atm I can't comment much, but I am hoping they aren't broken. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ "Life is change, chaos, filth and suffering. What this game really needs is a serious AI adjustment. Unless you're playing multiplayer against other human players only, it's completely useless. The AI will flee any battle it determines it can't win. It won't even try to inflict you any damage whatsoever even though it has a powerful hero and a giant army if your army is slightly superior. It's complete nonsense and ruins the whole game experience when all you fight throughout an entire game is neutral armies that you basically just blow away for some XP. And the weird part is that the higher difficulty level you play at, the more likely the AI is to flee...WTF!

You really can't expect that to be fixed now after all this time - it would require serious reworking. But there are many easy fixes that could be done faster.

Here is a wish list I made previously (and have added some suggestions from others) and here it is: 1. Playable L/SL/Imp map with up to 8 players that doesn't involve a supercomputer 2. Improve online playability 3. Nerf Sylvan late game 4. Boost Inferno early game (badly needed) 5. Boost Fortress early game, nerf late game 6. Boost Might hero (perhaps increases their direct damages to creatures) 7. AI speed... there must be some way to speed it up without sacrificing AI intelligence 8. Buildable Bone Dragons dwelling 9. Improve map editor features 10. Nerf Divine Vengeance

Btw, it's very nice that the AI operates better, but will it still flee every single battle it cannot 'mathematically' win or does it actually stay and put up a fight? That's what really bothers me right now.

Hmmm my wishlist would be: -Nerf Sylvan/Blood Rage/Divine Vengeance -Rebalance weak alternates/original units so they actually constitute worthwhile choices -Give Dungeon slight boost (Allow Warlock to breach Rage Shield with racial special (e.g. by 75% if she has the Pendant of Mastery), boost Warlock's Ultimate skill and strengthen Fury/Brisk Raider/Matriarch/Mistress) -Differentiate alternates and originals more in some cases (e.g. Mistress should have different spell set to Matriarch) -Give Inferno a slight boost -Improve AI - make it faster

AI should be fixed like that: - when being attacked/ attacking, seek to damage the player's troops as much as possible being fleeing - otherwise, AI should learn when to surrender (taking account into the costs to re-hire the hero on the same day) - also, AI should learn to re-hire the fled/ surrendered hero ASAP

I really tried being very patient with this game but that's enough. It won't be good enough even after a decade of patching. they can't get rid of the minor issues like the horrible mouse movement and positioning during a battle and at the initial game menu screen not to mention the AI, the actual balance and the crappy heavy engine (which is not fixable obviously).i just let go of it after being constantly dropped in the beginning of the week at dark ways and deeds mission , i managed to avoid this by moving my heroes to different locations but soon enough it just started to drop me every single day...so yeah take your time with the patch i don't care anymore...

You forget...the...specility: Siege Engineer, i.e. Ballista receive +1 to their Attack for every level of the hero. It's not a small bonus, here the Vittorio's ballista has 15 (expert warmachines) +21 (speciality) +3 (Ammo Cart) = 39, really more powerful than the demon lord's ballista.
