I'm a huge fan of dark elves, I guess that is why. Some of old Dungeon's creatures were interesting to me (e.g. Beholder, Manticore)... but I never found the minotaurs of much interest. I prefer the current mixture of 4 dark elves and 3 monsters.

What's wrong with the minotaurs? Especially with the HoMM III minotaurs? Awesome creatures, really earning some respect for their performance in the battlefield. Not to mention the Might and Magic minotaurs - tough and powerful like hell, damn their race... All in all, the minotaurs before HoMM IV deserved admiration for both their design and gameplay value. And they really fit in Dungeon IMO.

Didn't like them then, and I still don't. They were Dungeon's most uninteresting creature to me, perhaps after the Troglodyte. I've never had a liking for that type of creature. I liked the Manticore, Evil Occulus and Harpy from old Dungeon, and prefer the Fury to the creature she replaced. Hence the alterations to new Dungeon I suggested.

The problem with the H5 minotaurs is they are like H3 dwarves or zombies (either version). Just there to soak up damage while the more interesting units go to work. In H3 I always respect them on the battlefield, and their always positive morale always presented the danger that they would reach your archers in one turn.

Yep, and the Hydras do a better job of it anyway.

I don`t know why so many people are hacking at HoMM5. I bet most of you played it 100 hours+ and had your fun with it... And if you wan`t more content more units more items and more maps, give the developers more mony to pay more programmers to make more stuff. HoMM5 is the first of the series to be made 3d. It takes a lot more time to model something in 3 dimensions than in just one. AND they gave you an editor. You only have to spend a little time and you can make beautiful maps which are to your liking... Think about it. And I actualy was quite happy that they added dwarves! I like them. My biggest wish for the next HoMM is that its as bugfree as possible...Apart from that I think they can`t do much wrong. Just my two cents. best wishes Paendrag

I feel that way too. Online matches are fun but the campaigns are another integral part that should be as well designed as possible.

Ah well.. nothing new yet ? I would imagine it would be in some way connected to HoMM Kingdoms.. Though i suppose that means we will first hear something of HoMM 6 next year.

Don't know about the "animals", but given that some of the races in the original HoMM universe were exactly aliens and all of them were in a way "from a different world" ('couse it isn't just one, you know), I can't see a problem here. But this note aside, your post makes no sense indeed.

Eh, sorry... aliens do not really complement fantasy for me, unless they're extraplanars like the Shades in AoW II or the various extraplanar psionic races in Eberron. I like my high fantasy pure.
