Unlike the people who still play them ten years later. Wink

But seriously, I agree. Heroes III and Starcraft are some of the classics who have been aging very well, both with looks and gameplay.

AoW1 has a more original design while AoW2 is much more robust. However, I do really prefer the nymphs in AoW1 over their counterparts in AoW2 - Gotta love those dirty moans and screams.

Hi Kryz,

This thread could have been really important for developers with a poll that could say a lot but unfortunately it remains too ellusive.
Please understand what you did is not bad but it does not clarify why Ubi should stick or not with Nival.
Unfortunately I bought the game but I cannot play it since I cannot install it because the DVD is not recognized yet.

May I suggest to all player to enumerate good and bad feedbacks that Nival and Ubi could get out of the thread such as what Myythryyn explained on page 2 which indicates what the player want or does not want from V and/or in a hipothetical VI.

See you,

So many undone things for HoMM V, and to continue yet next part of the game.. I don't know. But there's one saying, that we learn on our mistakes. If to ask me, I think they do worth to try to make one and if there still will no progress, then it's deffinatly not their game to make. Or if they will finally fix their old mistakes and find better solutions to avoid them, that could be one of the leading games on our planet. These are my thoughts...

Hi there. Since creating a new thread would be rather pointless, I decided to revive this one. No news at E3, so here's a good chance to remind Ubisoft of the existance of this franchise - especially in light of the fact that Disciples 3 is coming!
I have to say that after playing King's Bounty, my voice goes to Katauri. I firmly believe they would do the series justice.

Maybe it would be a good idea to send emails to Katauri or storm 1C/King's Bounty forums and beg said company to approach Ubisoft?
HoMMVI totally needs to be made.

I am probably posting this a little bit late, but there is a good reason Nival should not be picked for new homm game.

Even though I have enjoyed Rage of Mages and Evil Islands years ago, Heroes of Might & Magic V is a dissapointment in my eyes.

Original release was plagued by bugs, and campaign storyline throughout the game and it's two expansions is dull, boring and simplistic. The game probably features some of the worst campaigns I have played in my life.

Music and overall atmosphere is so-so and compared to the earlier homm games seems amateurish, not to mention that graphics have no lasting value whatsoever and some creature design choices could be in a most benign way described as 'funny'.

On a competitive level, Heroes 5 featured flawed gameplay design that can't be fixed with new patch/expansion/whatever.

And for the last part, I think that the number of spelling errors, even in the last expansion, is appalling, and should be enough to ban Nival for all eternity from developing any form of media... And Ubi for that matter also, because they were supposed to SUPERVISE the project.

That said, I really liked the skill system but it's not enough to redeem Nival in my eyes.

Regards Big Grin

Christ, you're going to condemn Nival's efforts on the basis of their spelling?! I'm puzzled by all this HOMMV bashing tbh. As 3D re-imaginings of Erathia go, I think the game was a very brave (and for most parts) successful effort.

Yes, the campaigns did drag - too many garrisons with swarm stacks etc - and the AI (or lack of it) seemed to over-compensate by granting itself large armies, but that essential HOMM magic was still there.

Who else could do HOMMVI? Maybe the guys behind the new Kings Bounty - that game seems to get a lot of love, but I tried the demo and just didn't 'get' it really.
