Okay i used to play the old versions of this game and you could ally with your friend in the hot-seat games. i cant seem to find that now in heros V. Am i just missing it or does it not exist in this version?

You must play an "allied" map to "unlock" the option.

The ones with "teams" are the ones you want.

is that map type in the campaign or somthing?

No, they are regular maps (follow the link above to find a few).
