PhoenixReborn mentioned in another thread that there are several fan made RMG's out there.
What I've been able to locate so far is a RMG Template Editor by Silpion, which works but relies on Nival's RMG to create the map which doesn't make for very good end products. Another is an actual RMG by Tapani, which works but needs some tweaking and he is not working on it anymore. Does anyone know if it's possible to get the source code so I'll be able to work on it myself? Other RMG's mentioned were one by a French guy, SimonaK I believe, but I cannot locate a download for this one. Any links would be appreciated. Lastly it was said that Nevermindspy is working on one, does anyone know how that's going? Appreciate any input that'll make homm playable!! |

Checked them all and Simonak's seems to be the most promising.
For exemple it's the only RMG where obelisks and tear of asha are included. Afaik it's completed at 90%+ so its only a matter of days/week before it's released. Here's the french forum link with pics. |

I believe SimonaK's is a RMG Template editor only, which means it still relies on Nival's RMG to create the actual map. I would much prefer an entirely new RMG as Nival's has a pretty poor 'base' of map creation. They're very predictable and very boring, unless of course you have the ultimate template editor I guess.

You're right, Simonak's is a RTMG, not a RMG.
But the official Nival RMG is excellent for base map creation, it's the actual lack of good templates that makes it boring and predictable. (in my opinion). Now if someone find a way to create a new RMG that can generate ocean zones, then thats another story. |

For those who can't read french, This RTMG will not only create maps including obelisks/tear of Asha but also some (until now) non available buildings like :
-Oracle huts (for quests) -Knowledge trees -Sphynx -Stables -observatory towers and much more. |

I was planning to release an early version (For testing) this week but since i was unsatisfied with the end result i desided to change my entire object distribution algorithem to a new one and that will take another week at least..
