I'm not sure if this has been posted before, but if it has refer me to the page:
The AI seems to have an issue when it comes to attacking a ground target. Even if I assign a target to it to attack using any weapons, it ignores it and continues on with it's own agenda. Anybody else have this problem? |

http://flankertraining.com/ironhand/index.html Look on IronHands site for a couple of movies called Getting Started. Thay might help with the basic use of the Mission Editor if you are not used to it. As for getting AI to attack, there might be a couple of reason why you are not getting them to attack. A long time since I messed with AI ground attack, so I am going from memory. 1) In Lockon, the AI prefer the ATTACK waypoint to be set a good distance from the target, so they have a chance to get into their scripted attack profile. This differs from some other flight sims where you need to put the attack waypoint directly over the target. For a B-52 with the gliding bombs (AGM-154?) you might have to put it 10 or more miles away. 2) Are you 100% sure your AI have weapons? Often the Mission Editor will zap the weapon loadout - changing the AI TASK can do this. The foolproof way to check is to fly the mission and use F2 view to actually look at your AI aircraft to check they have some weapons. If you have used big bombers that have the weapons in an internal bomb bay then of course you cannot so this, so you have to double check within the mission editor. Sorry Death, you lose! Okay, it all sounds good. I'm doing every thing right except for the waypoints. I don't have the program on this computer, so I can't confirm this, but I'm pretty sure that's the problem. I'm just used to other sims, so I do put the waypoint on the target. Thnx.
