I just bought this game today as part of Ubisoft's "Greatest Sims" pack (the one that includes Pacific Fighters and IL-2 Sturmovik with Lock On), and for some reason the audio is extremely buggered.
I can't exactly explain it, but it all worked perfectly at first, but my security suite locked up my game and I had to execute a force-shutdown. I went to play the game again and I got the radio chatter and plane noises with a Runtime error saying that Java or something just told Lock On to quit in an unexpected way. So I reinstall it and it works fine again (albeit it locked up again and I said "screw it" and turned off my security suite, which is Trend Micro), and when I played the game after reinstalling it for the first time the audio was extremely mangled, garbled, messed up in every sense of the word. The computer sounded like C-3PO on crack, the long beep noises were like a really screechy washboard, and the voices sounded like they were stuttering, yet moving at a normal speed and sounding like C-3PO on crack. I also added some custom music (replaced the sound and success tracks), and they played perfectly fine the first time, but when I exited to look at something and started it again, the opening track I used (Kenny Loggins - Danger Zone) played at a fraction of the speed and sounded like total ****e. Is there any idea as to what my problem is? System: Motherboard: ASRock 775i65G Processor: Pentium IV 3.0 GHz, hyperthreading enabled. Memory: 2x Kingston 512MB RAM sticks, DDR, PC3200 Hard Drive: 160 GB, Western Digital Optical Drive #1: DVD-RAM drive, speed unknown, possibly 16x Optical Drive #2: CD-R/RW drive, write capabilities disabled Video Card: GeForce 6200 256MB AGP 8x Sound Card: Integrated, C-Media AC97 emulated sound drivers Power Supply: 400w, model/brand unknown. I copied this off another forum to save time. If this is the wrong forum, please move it to the appropriate one. I'd be grateful if someone can help me, I'd like to have audio that's easy on my ears and isn't splitting my ear drums. :-P This message has been edited. Last edited by: dd_1990, |
