I am unable to get the game to save the joystick settings. I set it to the x52 on the pull down and hit OK. When I go back, it has defaulted back to the keyboard. I am unable to play the game without a joystick and thus the issue is a fatal one as far as the game goes.

Downloaded latest x52 drivers and installed them. No help. checked for read only on lock on files, the relevant files are not set to read only.

Dell 8200 P4 2.4 gig
1 gig memory
256 meg Radeon 9800

It will always say keyboard so do worry about it. When you get into the game it will recogize the joystick. And you MUST install the STT program and create a profile. It is so hard to map out the x-52 in the options menu because it will recongize the keys 33 and 34. So download a profile from someone or on the saitek website and customize it to your liking and then play.

yes...the button 33/ 34 bug...
It has something to do with one of the earlier patches.
I originally thought it was my old X52 but when a repalcement X52 came along, as well as patch 112, the bug wasn't present.
I had to do an R/R Op. Sys and found that the bug had returned momentairily. I reran the updates (but couldn't find a genuine 1.12 but went with the updated 1.12a) and the problem wasn't present.
I haven't tried it with the profiler yet, to be sure.

I've got the X-52, and I can't get the game to keep the joystick settings, it reverts to the keyboard, yet the stick will fly and the throttle will control speed. However, none of the other buttons work (fire, change weapons, etc) and I can't even get them to fire from the keyboard. I'm working with patch 1.02. If anyone has a good x-52 profile for Lock On, it'd be very appreciated. This is SO frustrating, I've went back to flying Flanker 2.5 until I can get this fixed, because as is, Lock On is worthless to me :/

Everything I have read in the past about the use of X-52 (mine arriving any day now - mail order) on the forums says DONT use Lockon to map the keys. Clear them all out in the OPTIONS and use the X-52 profile tool for your mapping. Do a search for X52 on the Forums and I'm sure you will find the info you need.

I found that with a simple Google search - I'm sure there are more out there.....

If you have the basic Lockon then patch v1.02 is the latest patch.
If you have purchased the addon Flaming Cliffs then v1.12a is the latest patch.

Hey i've got the same exact problem, i have the saitek 290pro, i've dowloaded the updated driver & stuff, i cant figure this out. when i go into control panel it works good in my controllers, so it set up right. the optioins has it in the dropdown box, even has the trigger numbers listed that will fire, i hit ok, but all i can do is FLY..... ahhhhhhhhh anyhelp is appreciated?????
