Have you tried 1.1 flaming cliffs? because that fixed several bugs as well as new improvements. And we are waiting for the huge patch for FC before 1.2 comes out (which will probably fix more bugs) and then the 1.2 patch will fix more..and so on. So there's no need to worry, the bugs will eventually get less and less. Personally, i didn't experience any bugs yet.

mvsaladino - tell us exactly what problems you have with saving. Are you trying to save a campaign after you have finished a mission so that you can come back later and do the next mission?
I have never had a problem there, works every time for me with v1.02.... Or are you trying to save in the middle ofa mission? As far as I know, the SAVE in the middle of a mission has never worked for most folks (doesn't for me - it will save but when I try to resume the saved track it just freezes). Not a big deal - most missions are not that long, If I have a long mission I wont fly it unless I know I have time to complete it - I can live with that, most everyone else does too. Now you are patched to v1.02 have all your graphics problems been solved? If not, post exactly what they are and what your system specs, drivers etc. are and I am sure one of the forums graphics experts will be able to help you over the next couple of days. Sorry Death, you lose! It was Professor Plum.... |

well, with 1.02 version the graphics problem are solved.
the problem most irritating is when I load a game saved in the middle of the mission. Sorry for my bad english, I am strengtheing itself. |

WHAT THE ANSWER TO YOUR PROBLEM IS : THE MAIN PROBLEM IS THAT WE ARE ALL RUNNING THE PROGRAM ON DIFFERENT IBM COMPATIBLE SYSTEMS : LET ME GIVE YOU AN EXAMPLE : I INSTALLED MY WINDOWS ON A PENTIUM 3 OPERATING SYSTEM AND SOON AFTERWARD I MOVED THE HARD DRIVE TO MY PENTIUM 4 SYSTEM REMEMBERING TO CONFIGURE ALL THE HARDWARE DEVICES AND ALLOW FOR THE NEW SETUP CONFIGUARATIONL...BUT THE TWO MOTHERBOARD ARE DIFFERENT BOTH ARE IBM COMPATIBLE BUT WITH DIFFERENT MEMORY LOCATIONS AND OTHER SMALL DIFFERNCES MAYBE CLOSE TO IBM COMPATIBILITY BUT NOT 100%....IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO DEVELOP SUCH A SOPHISTICATED PROGRAM SUCH AS LOCK OUT TO RUN EFFICTIVELY FOR ALL IBM COMPATIBLES MAYBE A DELL IS THE BEST CHOICE .... BUT THE PROGRAM SHOULD BE PUT ON AN DEDICATED SYSTEM...OR HAVE A SUGGESTED OPERATING SYSTEM FOR PLAYING IT OR HAVE SOME TYPE OF DEDICATED CHIPSET TO BE PLUGGED IT AT THE PORT....WHAT EVER TO GET A STANDARD FOR STABLE PERFORMANCES....

Then maybe ... a. the product should not have been released for sale on the retail market b. the above quote should be in large bold font on the front of the retail package c. system requirements should include expert programming and windows configuration skills. d. evolved games should just send a refund check to everyone who wasted their time / money on this. Not trying to be an a***** but I would be ashamed to have my name on this. Then again maybe its not the designers fault but another scenerio of someone just being a little to anxious to make some money (coupled with the lack of consumer recourse in the respective industry). |

LOL. Runs great for me. Always has. Must be the difference in computers and computer skills. Maybe you should play console games. (Xbox, Playstation) Probably more your speed.

hey stupid you missed the point. being an accomplished programmer shouldn't be a prerequsite for a retail video game ... at least not without the applicable warning (see prior response). |

You should research these things a little better, Sinc. I'm not saying the industry and more specifically, flight sim developers are right in skewing the system specs to generate more sales but it has become quite the norm. If you had read through this and other forums devoted to Lomac it would have become painfully obvious that Lomac is a beast Yes, things can arrive in our hands in a somewhat broken state but a lot of the issues are addressed in one patch or another. The issues you're having lead me to believe you're either having windows/driver/directX issues, you have unrealistic graphics options enabled and/or your system is just not powerful enough. Also, you may already be aware but you can't have a bunch of s**t running in the background and expect Lomac or any other demanding game to perform well. Despite what the box reads, 512 is a bare minimum amount of ram for Lomac. You also have not yet specified your specs on the new ATi video card you just bought except for the fact that it's "256 meg". One last thing and I'm not flaming you but you'll get a lot more help in these forums by adopting a more positive attitude as opposed to the sarcasm you've been using here. I know you're upset, that's obvious but there are people here who are willing to help if you'll be more patient and a bit nicer. Remember, the people you're spouting off at didn't develop the game...we're all in this together and Lomac is awesome but it's not a "quick ride". I find lock on to be extremely good when its all going right, but it remains the most bug ridden mainstream sim I have seen for ten years
Eagle dynamics (they will shift the blame to ubi) basicaly released the code to ubi on time for christmas sales, its been a battle to fix it ever since. hopefully stormin has moved on, otherwise I expect a foul mouthed retort full of excuses and venom |

the fact that lomac runs great for you, or doesn't run good for some one else isn't the issue, It's the minimum and recommended specs on the box that miss leads everyone. for those who are planning or thinking of buying this sim, don't waste your money, first do some reseach of different forums and post and keep track of what system setups people are using when they say there're sim is running smooth. then if your setup meets or exceeds there setup then it would be safe to purchase this sim. BUT DON'T DEPEND ON SPECS ON THE BOX. they are misleading , they should be more truthful. |

I have 512 ram, 3gz pentium, and a nvidia geforce 5200. I run on medium except with 'all' lights, low effects, low water. Mirrors off. Very high resolution.
I get 20-25fps and its pretty smooth too. I have also recently found I can host a person while im flying. I would not recommend using anything lower than my system. What the hell happened to my sig? |

You hit the nail on the head....do some research. You can never really depend on the box's requirements on any computer software. Remember when, according to the Falcon4 manual, that sim was supposed to run "really hot" on a 400MHz P2? ---------------------------- Athlon64 3800+ Venice Asrock 939 dual SATA 2 mobo 1 gig Corsair PC 3200 XFX 7800 GT WD 40 gig 7.200 rpm hdd Antec True Blue 480W psu Samsung 940B monitor Track IR4 Saitek X-45 HOTAS |

LOL, o yeah! Their spec's were off for years until BMS came along and made things a little more marginable. Cheers |

IMHO the minimum specs quoted on games boxes are purely a marketing ploy to attract a wider audience of buyers.
Imagine if, in the case of lock-on, they put the minimum spec as "Intel P4 3ghz/AMD Athlon 3500, 1gig ram, ATI x800/NV 6600gt" etc etc. (Not saying they are, just an example). How many people would purchase then? Seeing as a lot of retail systems still, out of the box, come with 512mb ram. When purchasing a game i simply just read the min specs and double them, worked so far. |
