I had so many problems with LOMAC I didn't know where to look. But, after hooking up with the all and powerful OZ( Otherwise known as Whiskey Romeo) I was able to determine that the most likely problem was my ATI 9800PRO. This was my second 9800 as I discovered intermittent corrupted boots, meaning a screen filled with colored lines and squares which could be fixed by rebooting once and sometimes twice, and sent the card back to be replaced with same. And, sure enough, same did the same. So, then I assumed it was a glitch in my mobo, CPU, or ram. I let it go for a good year until with me reentering the LOMAC theater and having trouble all over again I decided to buy a new one. Chose the Nvidia 7800OC and my problems were solved. I now run the game on high settings with nary a glitch. So, make the switch, get rid of the glitch.
In all fairness I should mention that I ran a slightly illegal copy of XP Pro for years in protest of having to buy an extra copy for every machine one owns and have dumped that for XP Home bought at a reasonable price. Whether this was part of my problem I'll never know. |

You're correct about LOMAC being a different game...
Gainward 7800GS+ 512Mb (AGP) Those dark vertical lines in the distance, against the hills etc, have gone. The shadows on the planes themselves have tidied up but are still jaggy in some views. The cockpit view is immense...gotta see it to believe it. |
