Ive read through the forum and found on thread simular to my problem yet it wasnt resolved. I know how annoying it is when ppl keep posting threads about how their games doent work etc but id really appreciate just a few seconds of help.
Ive been playing 1.02 for a long time and thought it was about time i made the hop to FC seeing as alot of ppl rave about it. i Bought the Gold version from play.com a while back but due to work etc i hadnt got round to installing it till last week. I put the FC disk in and let it install, it say installation complete, so i restart to make sure. Double click the short cut and Starforce says checking disk, the yellow bar completes then the music for the game starts and the middle section of the screen goes black as tho the game is about to initialise but it never does, screen never changes but the music/soundtrack plays, a quick alt tab delete says that the game is not responding. to get around this i tried to patch it to 1.12a (using the cd patch of course) but when i try to run the patch it says "error code is 2, set up not complete" please any help would be much apprecitated, i just wanna get flying again. specs AMD 64 3.5 gig 1.5 generic ram Bfg 7800gt Creative audigy 2 ZS |

I would classify this as the infamous broken cd from Lock on Gold but I'm not really sure. Because usually the faulty 2nd cd of the lock on gold would get stuck at the starforce screen rather than actually complete. Make sure you installed in this order
1.00 original 1.1 FC (you don't need to apply the 1.02 patch) 1.12a patch (also make sure this patch is the U.S. version, even though you got the cd version, it has a UK and a US version) Once you complete that reinstall see it the problem persist. Because your rig is good enough to handle it, but maybe try updating your graphics driver. |
