Don't worry about the other patches since the fixes are included in the new one....such as 1.01, 1.02, 1.1, 1.12 (<-- new one is 1.12a) so yes this is not a typo

they need to release a 1.12a patch for basic lockon without the expansions then. You shouldn't have to pay for bugfixes.

Anyway no sence complaining about that here, i would have got FC and the other one they intend to release if it were not for Starforce being on there, but thats another thread so i'll drop it there.

I love this game, and have had no issues other than less than 20fps (which does suck, but installing 1.12a as we chat), when flying with multiple land and sea targets. Currently using 1.1 FC's.

Hello People, I just got lock on gold today. I have not installed it on my PC yet. that is why I am in here reading, but there is alot of post and a few of You that have posted seem to know how to make this game work. in what order should I install the game and Patchs also what patchs, once again I have Lock on gold it comes with the flaming cliffs addon. My PC is,
AMD 64 X2 4800
A8n32-sli Deluxe (mobo)
Corsair XMS-3500LL PRO 2X1gb modules
2 BFG Geforce 7900 GTX OC SLI

Your rig will run this sim very nicely. Lock On Gold did have a problem with the second cd which is FC, but they should have fixed that. You would know if you have a bad cd after you install FC on top of the original, and then once you run it, a starforce protection thing will just get stuck there for a long time. But if it starts up, then you can go ahead and download the 1.12a patch from the real lockon site, www.lockon.ru
Make sure you download for the right version, in this case you have the cd version, so download for the cd.

For mods/skins...etc you can go to a variety of lockon fan sites, my favorite http://www.lockonfiles.com/

THis game does take time to learn so be sure to run through the training mission first and glance at the manual which is located in your doc folder. Also this site with tracks also helps you learn how to fly http://www.flankertraining.com/ironhand/

Thank You Very Much, I did see the order above Just wanted to make sure, that the gold would be the same as buying just the addon alone. I got this game because it looks like it will be as real as I can get with a game, one of my all time favorites was Longbow 2 by Janes it was a hard game to learn set to full realism and a bit busy, sorry to say it will not play with this Box it dose not like XP I have been to 100 sites trying to make it work. well if I like Lock on, then I will try the chopper game these people have on the way I am very happy about that. well Thank You once again I am off to install this thing and get some air time.

DON- Very Important! You will have to turn off the dual core to play LOMAC. It does not support it.

It will not get past the Star Force CD check, it failed to id the disk in the drive tells Me to insert a liscensed disk.I sure hate spending hours reading just to make a game work. sometimes I wish I had got an x-box. So now what! anyone know.

Yes- you have "lock on Gold" Which came with a defective disk #2. You'll have to send for a replacement disk. They did a recall, but did not pull their defective product from the shelves. They just left you and thousands of others to figure it out for yourselves.

Update: I sent the makers of Lock On a picture of the game and Guide, to prove I did have the Lock on gold. I got and E-Mail from them about 10 mins later saying My disk would be sent out in the morning. Thank You again, I must say at lest it would seem they do care about there customers a little bit anyway and I believe they are trying to make everyone happy. I also told them in the E-Mail I sent with the picture that if had not been for the help from the players in a fourm I may have put this game aside and never tryed one from them again, I believe they own you guys a big Thank You.

hey guys im new to lock-on and i will buy lock-on gold and hopefully i pray to god it works when i get it, if i get disc #2 "buggy" can i still play LOMAC (w/ out flaming cliffs?) heres my rig tell me wut u think

I don't believe there is any buggy disc 2 still floating around but if you do get it you can always get a replacement for free. and yes you can still run with the original lock On during the time you wait for the new cd to arrive. However, i must warn you your cpu will probably have a hard time running it. I dont think you have a video card, it might be integrated. You can still try it and run on all low settings but no promises. If you do find the time and money to invest into this sim (which you should because its awesome) tell us and we will point you into the right directions for upgrades and such. Welcome to the forum.

Cool, when you install, go in this order

1.00 original lock on
1.1 flaming Cliffs
1.12a patch (you can download this at the real lock on site www.lockon.ru, you can register over at their english forum as well which i believe is a lot more active than around here. Be sure to download the right patch though, there's a download version and a cd version- and cd version has UK version or america version or whatever, just pick one that applies to you. I'm new here an sorry for my english, i'm from Martinica (French West Indies)
I have noticed that many people experience graphic issue in Lock On, especially those who own a Nvidia based video card.
Personaly, i've two computer based on Nvidia card (one with an AGP 6800GT and the other with an AGP 6600GT, both system's CPU are Athlon 64 3400+)
I've got that kind of graphic "artifacts" (corrupted odd sky texture, corrupted info bar, bad shadow casts, etc.) in Lock On (ver 1.01, 1.02, 1.1 and 1.2). Indeed, I especially upgraded recently to Flaming Cliffs hopping that the problem would not occur anymore but I was wrong.
I know what you guy will tell me, but it's not a problem with the video card. Indeed, Lock on is the ONLY ONE game that give me that kind of issue. I can play hours and hours many games (Oblivion, Act of War, IL2 FB, PES 5, ...) with no problem at all. My computers are VERY stable (good memory, good system files, no conflicts then no system failure at all)
The 6800GT fan is always on and the temperature do not exceed 65° C (that's far below the warning threshold).
I've already tried to reinstall Windows XP with SP1, with SP2, I've tried too different Forceware version (81.95, 91.28, 91.31, 91.33).
Note that the problem occur more often when High Settings are enabled and very often in A-10 and SU-33 missions.
I've heard that some codec pack may interfere with Lock On, I have Ace Codec pack on the other computer (6600GT) and no codec at all on the 6800GT computer: same problem.
Considering the number of complaints I reported on many forums, I can definetly say that Lock On needs special optimisation and tweak for some Nvidia cards.
But the question is... which and where?
Somebody have a suggestion about that? Am I wrong ?

Did you try asking here also? The French guys over at CheckSix have helped me out in the past with stuff. Sorry I cant help you myself, I have 9800Pro.....
