I got a problem (duh). Whenever I start a campaign mission or just a normal flying mission, around 1-10 minutes into the game, my entire computer crashes to the blue screen, so i have to restart my computer and so forth. This doesnt happen when I fly training missions. Any Ideas?

My stats:
2.8GHz
512RAM
80Gb hard drive (nearly full)
NVidia GeForce 5200, 256mb

I need help!!!!!! On a side note, when the game works in training it's freakin awsome.

ALSO: Once, I was flying the A10 Maverik missile training, and after the instruction I took control, made one pass, was coming around again, when I was shot down by nothing at all. I managed to eject. The camera switched to a helicopter flying and attacking the same convoy I was attacking, then it too mysterioulsy blew up and crashed. I switched view to all the units in the area, but none of them (as far as I know) had anti-aircraft capabilities (unless tanks can kill you). Is this a glitch or was there a jet or SAM site somewhere nearby? It took 1 hit to kill me in an A10, so it had to be powerful.

So, help plz!

-Ephrata

NOTE: I have not yet patched....

I think you may need to make some upgrades. The CPU is ok as long as it's not a celeron or some other budget ****. There isn't a single processor that can run it without stuttering- and it doesn't support dual core, SLI, or even HT processors. Nice huh? It endlessly demands more power- and doesn't support it!!

At any rate...

Have a gig of good memory on hand. The WORST video card you'll want to bother with is something like a radeon 9800 or nvidia 5900. If you can get something later model- like the x800 series or nvidia 6600's/ 6800's- you should. You will likely need to upgrade the power supply along with the card.

Oh and each of the patches has included better stability- generally speaking. The release version was an abject disaster. The add on- called "flaming cliffs" and the subsequent patch to that- version is 1.12a is HIGHLY recommended.

Heheh I know it does ok- I had one too. Still do- in a box in the garage.. But- you gotta draw the line somewhere, and the 9800 was one of the first to have enough power to run the game with stability and FAIR eye candy, too.

yes, that is the second disk. When I first got it, i was confused. I'm like, wheres this "lock-on gold disk 1 and 2?" I guess its just Lock-on and flaming cliffs, but flaming cliffs wont install. Ill try again, cause ive patched the original to 1.02

Ephrata - we ought to warn you that there were manufacturing problems with GOLD, many of the 2nd CD's (the CD with flaming cliffs on it) were borked.
The problem manifests itself as StarForce asking for some non-existent code/password which of course you dont have!

Not the fault of Eagle Dynamics (the Lockon Devs) or StarForce (Flaming Cliffs copy protection) or UBI (the publishers of original vanilla Lockon), but by the GOLD publishers - Evolved Games.

Some OK copies are on the shelves, many borked copies remain on the shelves, a product recallwas never done, instead you have to contact Evolved, send them proof of purchase and they will send a replacement CD.

Sorry Death, you lose! It was Professor Plum....

ok i know i saw a topic about this one, but here goes. I was practing with the maverick again (man that thing is hard to target with). When i found a target, I locked on, and i pulled the trigger, but the gun shot instead of the missile. Wierd. The same happened with the AIM-9, but I later realized that it was because it pulled the trigger instead of pressing enter.
