Please use the proper forum for the proper questions/remarks.

If you have having difficulty running the game/crashes/graphic glitches that you want fixed, used the tech support forum.

If you are reporting a bug, ie something isn't working properly like the low alt ground clutter bug with the F-15C radar (being fixed in the patch) you post it here, detailing what is wrong and how you reproduce the bug.

This forum isn't about getting your game to work properly, that's the tech support forum. This forum is more a reporting area.

In this forum we are trying to build a picture of
what is working and what is not.
Don't pollute it with opinions.

Huh?

The main reason you post a problem is to find out whether it is a bug or your fault. Until someone replies with an answer- you don't know and hence didn't know which forum to use in the first place. Capiche? An example below:

If I want to report that my radar doesn't work properly then I would probably look for the tech support forum ,as it's probably 'finger trouble' on my part. (even though now after reading threads in all three forums I know its kind of a bug)

If I get a light blue screen of death then I would goto the bug reporting forum, not vice versa as you have suggested.
(even though now I know it's not a bug, but an incompatibility of my Geforce2 card. But I only know this after reading zillions of threads in all three forums)

Why don't you rename the forums as follows?:
1. General gameplay discussion (no fault reporting)
2. Fault reporting forum (software & hardware issues)
3. Pilot's discussion (LOMAC aircraft systems Q & A)
4. Mission builder's discussion.

cheers,

rastus

I don't think the moderators have that ability. I suggest you send a PM to Thunak, he can probably have it arranged.

4)This forum is a meeting place that includes the producers, developers of LOMAC, beta testers and other representatives of the the simulation. They are very passionate about the sim and want to make it better. They welcome feedback good and bad. They do shy away from constructive criticism. At the same time they do not need to be harassed. Please show them and their product the respect it deserves. Mature, throught out criticism will be welcomed.

With this in mind attacking them or the simulation will not be tolerated. Posts full of insults and derogatory language will be removed and the posters warned. This is not a customer service avenue to Ubisoft. If you wish to contact Ubisoft because this product fails your expectations please contact Ubisoft directly: http://support.ubi.com/

Which is it?
Is this a forum frequented by developers and are they really open to constructive criticism?
What constitutes an,"Attack"?
What constitutes a,"Bug"?
I don't think anyone wants to,"Attack" anyone but they do want a product they have paid for and avertized as working to work?
I,like many, have posted feedback to try and help resovle the issues. However many of us have been around a lot of years and we know when we are not getting what we paid for?

Well, I hear this, but my biggest problem with both this and the tech sp forum remains the fact that it appears to be hit or miss as to whether 'my' bug/tec issue catches the interest of the mods. If it doesn't we end up with the community attempting to thrash things out themselves, without definitive information available.

Until these 2 boards are properly monitored, they remain less useful than they could be..

The mods aren't tech support personal. Hunter is very good at diagnosing dx problems and helps on his own time, but it is not his job. On the tech support board look at the sticky for the link to the Ubi support site. If you want tech support from a tech support person, that's the way you go.

I guess the borders between the bug and tech sup forum aren't that impermeable.

Most people who post here will do so because they think it's a Lomac related problem. They may sometimes be wrong, but they're humble users and nobody can expect expert level research and investigation from them. They report because they think it may be of general interest, even if perhaps the problem is limited to their own system - they can't know that. They'll probably have tried to read the info already posted elsewhere, but they may miss something posted elsewhere - that's simply the nature of the game. They're just customers, trying to contribute to the community and the progress of the sim. They can only be expected to spend a certain amount of time on these aspects.

yeah, tech support forum. And where, exactly, might I find that? I'd *really* like to see if my problems playing this game can be fixed...

>Bug: Something that can be fixed through coding, patching, or other means not known or accessible to the common user.

>Tech Support: Help! , I can't figure out how to run this software properly. What am I doing wrong?

Just my opinion on the difference, Not that it's up for discussion really. Smile Seems like a foggy situation at best. Though using the search feature should always be a first resort before posting a question, simply to reduce clutter and repitition.
