Another friend with a problem. Sorry I am posting on behalf of others, but folks living in the rural areas out here do not have adequate quality telephone lines to have internet. This chap just bought FC (first release) and installed it. Everything was blue, blue water, blue sky, blue buildings, blue helicopter, just like in the song...I'm blue. I found the fix in the read me file on how to change to OPEN GL in one of the config files. Solved the problem. Why can't a person just choose the mode in game or in a set up menu ala Pacific Fighters ?
Not all problems were solved though. There are some objects that have parts of them shaded green or red, e.g. roofs, walls or roof beams. I see by using the find function that others had this or a similiar problem in 2004, especially with the FX series of nVidia cards of which he has one. What I have deducted is that I can try the following for him: 1. Try the Nvidia 60.72 or 56.72 driver. 2. Turn shadows down to medium 3. Install patch 1.1 4. Turn off anti-aliasing Since then, is there anyone with more suggestions? Where can I download all the patches for the first FC? Thanks all. |

Uninstall patch 1.1 ..using the patch uninstall
by starting the patch install, and selecting it. Install patch 1.3 |

All the patches you need are in the top sticky on this forum. Most likely this can be fixed by patching to 1.3 and having the right video driver installed after a cleaning of the old drivers using driver cleaner.
With older vid cards make sure you are at lowest resolution and low graphics settings with no AA or AF. You can try raising the graphics one at a time until you get poor framerates or bad textures. |

Thanks, but I'm not 100% with you guys. Does patch 1.3 come packaged with a patch uninstall?
FC has been loaded out of the box so I'm not sure what version it is. Is the right driver the 60.72 ? |

Those drivers are really old. Try the newest 81.98's or the 71.89's (which were known to work well). nvidia XP driver page
To uninstall the patch just run the installer again and select "remove". Then insert the CD/DVD and do a repair install then install the 1.3 patch. No other patches are needed 1.31 and 1.33 are for online multiplay. Most likely the previous save points will not work correctly so he'll have to start over. It's a DX 9 game Open GL is a unsupported option so it's "use as is". Edit: I misunderstood..patch 1.1 is NOT installed correct? If so, just install patch 1.3. Just to anwser your question, all the patches work in the same manner run the installer again and select "remove". Before you install the new drivers you should run DriverCleaner after removing the old drivers. After the game is patched and drivers updated. Do system maintenance. Run adaware, spybot, antivirus, etc. then defrag. Try the game with DX 9. |

Thanks guys, reading you loud and clear. I'll keep you posted as to the results. Probably in a week or so.

I was able to uninstall the recent patches but patch 1.10.000 is detected, so the regular game won't uninstall now. how do I get rid of this patch 1.10? and if it's manual how do I find out what to delete in the registry?
