Hey Guys!

I've been visiting Shanghai these past few weeks and decided to pick up FarCry 2. Because I don't trust bootleg DVDs (they sell pirated games burned onto dvds in China fyi) and want to play online, I decided to buy their so-called 'legal' version of the game. My suspicions arose when it didn't ask me for a CD-key when I installed, and the manual didn't conain one. This was furthered by the fact that it was also missing the 'Online Key'.

So tell me guys, have I been cheated?

If there is no key at all then yes i would believe you were ripped off. the CD(product) key is the same key as the activation key.

Dont get your suspiscions up when it doesnt ask for it during install, it only asks for it when activating the first time you start the game, If you can play the single player without activating and have no key at all then it is a pirate copy.

I would assume you were cheated.

There is no key, and no serial either. The so-called 'manual' that came with the box is what looks like a game guide (can't exactly read Chinese) and on the DVD, there are various PDFs that are game manuals. However, on the last page of the PDF manuals where the CD-Key and serial are said to be, there is nothing in the little white box labeled CD-Key.

P.S. I'm taking pictures of the box and manual later

Thats why Shanghai has such a bad reputation. Sorry to say it but you bought a pirated game. It looked like a real good deal, vendor swore up and down it was a legit copy. All in a place where it is well known you can buy pirated software.

quote:
there are fake software selling on so many streets and video-audio stores, but there are really very small amount of stores that sells Real Genuine Software. I assume radio of the place to sell pivated software to genuine is at least 100:1
Thats a quote from a Chinese person complaining about the industry...

You should have bought it off steam mate. It's almost impossible to get a legal copy in those countries.
