title says it all really... each time a server plays a non stock map, i cannot get it, on connect i get about 2-3 minutes of black screen then it tries to download from the community server and fails, then from the game host and fails...

i really need help with this, disabled both router and software firewalls, the ports are open regardless, i watched kaspersky and the game doesnt attempt to make any new connections at anypoint... just for info my game is downloaded

anyone else get this bug? or do i need change some settings here? help!!!

I have the same problem, except every once in a while (twice so far) I've gotten a map to download. Twice out of MANY attempts. I've tried everything I know and nothing I've done helps. Hopefully SOMEONE will have some answers.

I have this problem.
My son and I have Far Cry 2 installed on two different PC's. We both sit on the same network behind the same router. I have port forwarding set up he does not. I tried without as well.
He can connect to any game and get the maps in seconds, I can only join stock maps. Any custom maps and I get the Failed to download map message. I can't download from the map community either. He can.
This is the same CD key on two different PC's behind the same router.
The CD key is not the problem because the system kicks us whenever the other logs on.
There is something seriously wrong with this game.
Forget setting ports and disabling firewalls it's nothin to do with that............it's them!

Try restarting the Punkbuster service - I see PnkBstrA on windows XP.
I get problems intermittently. On this ocassion, restarting the service appeared to fix this error.
Of course, make sure you have PunkBuster installed.
