Whenever i try to play farcry it just sits there at the loading screen. i opened up task manager and found that FXC.EXE was restarting over and over. So i took the FXC.EXE file out of the farcry folder and the game loaded up, but when i played there were walls going through everything and big graphic errors. so my question is, how do i fix my problem!?

the problem is not playing single-player, it is getting the game to start, ive tried all of the patches except 1.1 and 1.3 because for some reason they wont install, but i used a cumulative patch from 1.4 and then tried 1.33. it still does not work, if anyone can help, itd be great. I am using windows XP. and my specs meet all of the requirements.

What are your system specs and what media did Farcry come ei: DVD, 5-CDs, ????
I think a "bargain" distributor took over distribution and distributed prepatched versions. I'm not 100% sure though. |

Have you overclocked your system by any chance?
fxc.exe is part of the DirectX SDK responsible for compiling High-level shader language (HLSL) shaders from the command line. i think from the graphics issues you list, that you need this fxc.exe file. Then run dxdiag.exe to check your installation of DirectX isnt corrupt (im assuming your using DX9c) Maybe the solutions here (shader model 2b) may help: :: http://www.techspot.com/vb/all/windows/t-14435-DirectX-90c-released.html |

I have FXC.EXE, i said i did in my above post. the game will not run while the file is in the Bin32 file. i will try dxdiag.
Edit: No errors in direct x. My card is shader model 3.0 ill try it anyway. |
