This is after installing 1.03 patch.

I finsih the tutorial. Next mission Delivery, AFTER getting tape from Reuben, I go to Pala to get meds from Father Maliya.

I approach and he finally sees I'm ill. After dialog, I forward until I can take Action, I do so to give tape. He then says "I should take one of those.." Problem, nothing happens.

The game is NOT totally frozen, but I can take no action at all. I cannot move, cannot take pills [H], [Esc] does not work. ALL I CAN do is [Ctrl][Alt][Del] to Task Manager and kill the game.

NOTE: With v1.20, giving the tape showed the Pills then I could use [H] to heal.

Sounds like problem in your PC

Not my PC.

Though for awhile, went back to a save when I first arrived at Mike's Bar and repeated the sequence of:

• Buying weapons (getting completion of mission msg)
  
• Entering Mike's Bar
  
• Talking to everyone
  
• Making SURE I got the tape
  
• Went to the Church in Pala
  

This time the conversation with Father Maliya went as it should and I got the pills.

I have continued on with the game.

COMMENT: There seems to be a problem with missions out of Mike's Bar. There have been several issues with other Act-dependent missions out of Mike's that I, AND OTHERS, have had. The previous one I had was near the end of the game where your goal is to go back to Mike's and talk to someone. The goal says that's what you're to do, but you cannot get into the bar. This is one reported in several posts. The solution (for me) was the same, go back to a save in the previous Act and redo the game from there.
