Agree, but since none from Ubi has ever answered this thread, plz write something here:

http://www.support.ubi.com/

I did, and the autoreply said someone from support will answer me in 24 hours.

BTW, someone will probably start a Facebook/Myspace page with Ubi-boykot, since Far Cry 2 is such a highly anticipated game, that this CAN'T be left on the ground.

This forum is a waste of time. I too have seen no response to even say the faults / bugs reported have been logged, or any indication as to when anything will be fixed.

I do agree on most of the issues mentioned,
although I don't agree that nobody plays Player Match. I had 16 players constant for over 2 hours on my own map Camp Vertigo, including 2 friends over voicechat. So actually, compared to the storymode of the game, the editor is what saves the game's value for me.
We all started at Rank 1 and worked up to rank 4-6, so at least we had some fun with better weapons, and nobody was kicked since the match got extended all the time and we could upgrade ingame from the pause menu.
But it does suck that I can't continue the next day with my Player rank intact.

Wow, I leave my server on dedicated for the whole day and night , host matches with friends, and still no players will not join...I have a total of 2 downloads for my map...That's Amazing isn't it...What a waste of time putting so much effort in such a great map...

Plus I look at the countless list of player matches where there is only 1 out of 16 players in a game with only 1 or two in any gamemode where there is 3 or 4 players, maybe 1 out of 100 have more than that...

I love the map editer no matter what anyone says about the game, but you have to agree that most players spend their time in ranked matches seeing as there is really no point in joining a player match when you will just lose your rank when you leave the match...

I just think they should make the interface more user friendly and stop trying to not allow us to have more control over the way we play our games...That's what video games are mainly about...Taking yourself out of the real world and placing you into a world where you have control over how you play and what you do...

If you don't like the set rules of a game whether ranked or unranked, you always have the choice to not play in that game...So why not allow us to invite friends or use our maps in ranked matches, and why ,oh why? do you kick us out of a ranked match after the end of the match...This isn't Xbox, we are civilized people here and we are mature enough to decide whether we want to stay in a game or leave afterwards and find another one....It doesn't make sence...

Not only that...Fix the error that doesn't allow anyone to join a game that says "waiting" clearly at the bottem of the screen, but still it only says, "Cannot join at this time, try again later"...How long do we have to wait to try again? After the host gets tired of waiting for more people to join and quits the match along with everyone else who quit waiting for the host to start the game? It's a little to late then isn't it?

The only thing in this game I can play is the single player, because if I connect the ethernet cord to the PS3 the game is laggy ALL throughout the game starting after the playstation 3 trademark when I start the game. Its like a buffering video except on a disc that doesn't need to buffer for some reason, and even when I do connect it to the internet the multiplayer would say "Cannot connect to farcry2 servers."

Do you think it bloody helps when you people constantly spam this forum? Do any of you think that just maybe, you're actually HURTING your own cause by doing this? No, I don't work for Ubisoft, but if I did, and I saw that this forum was overrun by a bunch of immature 12-yr olds, I'd be that much less inclined to post anything.

For the record, nobody has been banned on this forum for simply voicing their displeasure with the game. However, there is a right way to go about it, and a wrong way to go about it.

I really hope the developers actually read this. I guess my advice is the same thing many others have already said.

Single Player issues:
The guard posts respawn too quickly. Driving a shirt distance and having to kill a group of people, fix my car and then repeat the same thing again nonstop isn't fun. At all. It's maddening. I understand that guards would be back the posts at some point but at least give us like 12 game hours or something. They shouldn't be back so quickly. It's ruining the fun of the game and the malaria is bad enough as it is.

THIS ONE IS IMPORTANT TOO!
It would be WAY WAY more intense if you never knew who was going to attack you and who wasn't. Every single person in this country apparently wants to kill me. So whenever I see ANYONE my first reaction is just kill them. It ruins any suspense. Imagine driving down a jungle road and seeing a car coming towards you and not knowing if the person was hostile or not. FAR MORE INTENSE don't you think? As the game currently is there is no surprises. I know everyone wants to kill me so I just kill every living thing I can find. Not really a very suspenseful gameplay mechanism though is it? I'd rather not know how any random character will react to me.

These are really the only two ideas I have and I REALLY REALLY hope Ubisoft takes the ideas into some serious consideration for a patch because I want to love this game but as it is I can't. It's not as fun as it should be. It's just tedious. It's a wonderful idea for a game but it's not really as fun as it's supposed to be.

Who's spamming? I went back and looked through most of the posts, and the majority of them are by different people. True, there a few people like me who have posted 2-3 times in this thread, but that's only because we keep coming across bug, after bug, after bug, after problem, after problem, after problem, after issue, after issue, after issue...

So again, who is spamming? From what i understand, we're supposed to all be bringing up any of the issues we encounter. If not, then you need to be clearer on your forum policies.

Let's say you are right, and we are acting like 12 year olds. Well... We're the core of Far Cry 2's user base. So if they don't please us, then their game dies. It's as simple as that. Doesn't matter how we are acting, they either please us and succeed. Or don't, and fail.

In addition, maybe we are "acting like 12 year olds" for a reason? I've seen adults buy something defective at a store, and then try to return it. Just to be denied by the customer service person for a stupid reason. This infuriated the customer, with good reason...
The principle is the same with Far Cry 2 and Ubisoft. We aren't trying to return our merchandise perse, but we are trying to get a fix, and trying to get some communication out of them about the problems so that we can have some reassurance that there is going to be a better future for a game that's currently a POS. But we're getting nothing from Ubi, not even a small bone...

I'm just glad i was able to return my game for a full refund. I was worried at first, because i had bought it new, and already opened it. But the folks at GameStop sympathized with me, and gave me a full refund. In addition, i've been able to gladly steer 3 people away from this game completely. So that makes me happy... That's pretty much the only happiness i've gotten out of the whole Far Cry 2 situation.

Lastly. You're a moderator of a forum, and in that forum you are calling your members immature 12 year olds? I've moderated a very popular gaming community before, and that's not how you deal with the community members. You should be stripped of your moderating privileges instantly, and kicked to the curb!

The spam Brim was referring to has been cleared up, that's why you can't see it, or would you prefer to see mindless profanity filling the forums, posted by people who had made new accounts purely to flood the forums. Indifferent

I have 2 really serious problems,
I'm at 27% completion and it says that their is a mission available at the APR HQ, the guy searches me and lets me in but the upstairs door is closed so I can't get the mission. (Ive tried reseting, realoading, nothing works.)

Next, since I thought that i would go and try to do different things and explore (eventually coming back and hopefully that APR door would be open.) So here I am at a little house in the southwest corner of the Northern territory and if I go about 30 yards in any direction my player passes out... there is an invisible boundry, Ive even waited all day to get to the night (thinking about this dehidration junk that ive heard mentioned) because I can't forward the clock at this house, I'm stuck, I can't go anywhere, my character just passes out if I step over the invisible line.
This is a very serious problem, This affects my gameplay because I cannot continue ( I overwrite my saves.) I am sure as hell not going to start a new game after all the stuff Ive done already because of some stupid glitches (how do I know it won't happen again anyway). After reading some other posters topics, I know Im not the only one with these problems. After reading these forums there are a lot of issues that need to be sorted out and I suggest UBI gets cracken and comes out with a patch. I hope they don't expect their customers who paid $60 for their product to sit quiet and do nothing for problems they need to iron out!!!

I just want to warn everyone that this post could contain possible SPOILERS but does point out a confusing bug. When the game is loading, you get a little 2 line message that tells you what has happened. After the bit where you try to recieve the diamonds to end the conflict it says,
The Jackel set me up to take Oliver Tambossa's death,
when it should read,
The Jackel set me up to take Addi Mbantuwe death.
It then goes on to say in the next message,
Hector Voorhes needed a level playing field, and that meant getting Addi Mbantuwe out of the way,
when it should read,
Hector Voorhes needed a level playing field and that meant getting Oliver Tambossa out of the way.

I found this really confusing the first few times until I found out what had happened, anyone else experienced this problem?

I love this game, I would like to see the Editor expanded though, to encompass more modification. For instance the ability to modify static properties, and things like, how long a certain item burns, or how a box reacts, etc. Even the ability to add bots to the maps would be nice.

I bought this game on release and to be honest I wish I hadn't now. The online does not work! I must say I take real enjoyment out of waiting ages to get into a game. And then when the game is finished to be kicked back to the main screen.

I love the way that I can unload a whole clip at someone at point blank range. And then they will turn round and shoot me with one shot from their pistol.

But the best of the lot is losing all my xp and ranks when I log off. Way to go Ubisoft!

This is the third game I have bought from you that does not work online, and the last.

Main problems I've had with the game (MP issues and things people have already posted aside):

- Game freezing. Every so often game would freeze for a split second. (although only in the beginning of the game it seems)

- Stereo sound is horrible. There is no sense of depth or space. I haven't double checked it with headphones, so left/right issues could be my TV speakers. But many many sounds have no depth and all sound right on top of me (cars, gunfire, fire, several of the animal noises).

- In multiplayer I occasionally spawn and my weapons don't appear. So I can run around doing nothing until I die (or hop on a machine gun if theres one thats pointed in a useful direction).

- Also in multiplayer, every so often disconnects will totally kick me off PSN so I have to log back in to PSN. Pretty annoying.

My friend and I got this game and started to hate it day one but are now both getting way into the single player. I've been doing some multiplayer and starting to enjoy it but the connectivity and XP tracking issues make it a waste of time. Hopefully at least the essential bugs will get fixed so this can be a great game.

Oh yeah and my last MP game the match was about to end and I was suddenly "disconnected from the host" and kicked back to the main screen. Is that the host kicking me?

I hope someone can help me.

Join the growing club of people with this problem the captain of the badge might be different but the error is fatal to your game, sorry. If you've got a previous save before you started that mission try that otherwise from what I know (I have experienced this) there's currently no fix. Are you listening Ubi??

I didn't have an issue with that mission, however, when i go into the town to get a mission it says is available at the UFLL there is no one at the door to let me in. There's a guy at the APR door, but they don't have any more missions available, so I'm stuck at 69%.

The only problem I have found at the moment, is this error message when accepting friend game invites.

"Joining match failed (mismatched versions)"

I'm running v1.02 and so are my friends.

As for the game itself, im very impressed. Levels are huge and there is so much to explore. Has much more variety in the multiplayer than cod4. Howeverm its such a shame that the servers on multiplayer are messed up. I disconnect from the server after every game and sometimes losing my rank and xp that i have gained which as everyone knows is frustrating. If this gets fixed it could be one of the best multiplayer games. Wink

Abandon ship, Abandon ship! Since there was no response from anyone at ubisoft saying they are even working on these issues, I decided to sell the game. I got $44 for it on ebay. Cut your losses while you still can. This game has been one of the biggest disappointments of the year, and could have been one the best. The good news is that resistance 2 comes out next week and COD world at war comes out the week after that. I bet their multiplayer wont be jacked up because they did this thing called "beta test" You should check into that Ubisoft.

And that is what I will be doing! I just spent the best part of 3 hours on MP. Managed to get into 2 games. This product you have released is an absolute joke now! This is the third game I have bought from you and definitely the last. And to think I traded in COD4 for this piece of crap!

1: Aiming needs to be improved and be able to run and strafe like in any other shooter out there, (COD4, Resistance 2 etc.) Very annoying that you can only run in a straight line especially in multiplayer, when you see an enemy on the edge of the screen and you have to stop turn around and aim to kill him which then makes you an easy target.

2: Player Match Ranks don't save.

3: Getting kicked after every Player match/Ranked match once you've played one map to the menu.

4: singleplayer: Guards respawn at checkpoints.

5: Reduce bullets required to kill an enamy (no need to spend a round and a half on an enamy).

6: Getting signed out of the Far cry Network.

7: Being able to play custom maps in Ranked Matches.
