It doesn't matter if three people bought a Big Mac over this bull ****, Ubisoft was still paid to have the ads in their games in the first place, on top of that, they also brought life back into older titles (which a few hundred people will probably decide to buy after the taste test).
Edit: And of course they were monitoring the number of new members joining Ubisoft.com to see how successful this was (also known as the number of people who are going to actually see these ads). It's not up to Ubisoft to make sure people buy the products, it's just up to them to deliver the advertisement, it has nothing to do with how many hamburgers and eye drops are sold. Who knows, maybe next round they will demand double from Mc****les and Ben Stein.
Ad space only sells if people buy the goods, if they don't buy, they can't sell ad space, on ANY form of media. And if they were all as angry as you, nobody would buy, so Ubi wouldn't be able to sell any more ad space, so again no money would change hands......................

Ubisofts official position on this issue is below: quote: The Ubisoft promotion allowing gamers to download and play the ad-supported PC games Prince of Persia: Sands of Time, Far Cry, Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon and Rayman Raving Rabbids for PC was a promotion designed exclusively for the US market over the Labor Day weekend. The promotion has now closed and consequently the hosting of files is no longer recommended.
Any other threads on the Free to Download release are being closed.
