Hi,

I've been trying for more then 4 hours now to get past the laoding screen.

I have downloaded dx10 for xp, gave farcry2.exe a high priority, closed other processes.

Played with my sound settings, my 7800gtx isn't supported for the latest 180.24 nvidia card drivers...

I'm really desperate now, i've been looking out so hard for this game and now this mess.

What can i do Frown

There isnt much what i know about it but it could be the DX10 conflicting with the game, im not sure but its something that could be a possible matter.

I've got the same problem and found several similar reports in other forums. The loading screen freezes and my pc restarts. I'm using xp sp3, dx9.

kv2lite, amdx2 4400, 3gb pc3200, hd3850 512 agp.

First off dx10 will not work with any nvidia card below 8000 series
second off dx10 for xp is a joke it corrupts the working ones
third, dx10 is a vista only exclusive
Last but not least you will have to format to fix direct x or try to use system restore to restore ur pc to the point before u installed dx10.

Ok, I had a look at a the German forum. It seems to be a conflict with the sound, not dx. Did u try running the SAN.exe from the ubisoft help page? In my case it says "sound device too old" (it's 2 years old), update drivers. But the company doesnt exist anymore...

Did you read anything I said? You corrupted your dx system files. Try running another game see if it will work.

There is no dx 10.2. As far as I know microsoft is only going to dx 10.1 then 11.0.

Like I said DirectX 10 Alky Project is a joke. It does not work. Neither does any other version created for xp. All it does is corrupts your system files that does work. The only thing you can do now to get it working again is either system restore or format.

This seems to be a serious issue because all the guys reporting this error have completely different hardware/os.

Isn't there an English version for the non-krauts?

If you upgraded to dx10 for xp without vista or a dx10 video card, trust me its your directx. I build pcs I should know. If you want to keep running in circles with sound thats fine with me your problem not mine.
