Hi!
I don't know if this discussion applies to the Far Cry technical community, but I didn't find it too "general", so I guess it's better off in here. I've reached the point where I'm only seeing things that annoys me more than it pleases me whilst playing Far Cry, in general. I'm so fed up with being restricted to a weapon limit. That counts for all modes of multiplayer. Therefore I wonder: is there some sort of command that enables one to carry more weapons at the time? And a command to increase the ammo capacity of a gun perhaps? And the most annoying matter of all: I HATE IT THAT THERE IS A ENERGY LIMIT!! PLEASE, ANYONE, PLEASE SAY THERE IS A WAY TO SWITCH IT OFF! Or at least increase it to a reasonable limit?? Even a speed increas of the walk would do! It's the speed that is bringing the whole fun down to a miserable level. Seriously, there MUST be a way besides making a mod for it?? And whatever other fun tweaks there might be, I would be more than happy to know about them! Please help, or else I will stop playing the game and banish it to hell alongside the Medal of Honor games, the SLOOOOOWEST games on earth! |

There are no modes of multiplayer where is OK to change your ammo limit and run speed. Its called cheating and other players take a very dim view of that. If you are running out of ammo before you get killed then you are either a really good player or shooting too much and not hitting anything.
There are some servers that have increased stamina. These are usually running FFA maps. Far Cry is not Unreal or Quake. No bunny hopping or speed runs. It just might not be your kind of game because it is pretty slow. That's why its called a tactical shooter. |

I'm fully aware of this game not being anything like Unreal or Quake, but I've played tons of games like Far Cry, and among those games, Far Cry is the only stamina-based game that affects jumping as well. And as mentioned, the stamina limit in Far Cry is ridiculously low compared to other games with stamina limits.
Whether or not it's a cheat in order to increase ammo or stamina limits, I would really want to know what commands to type in order to do so. First of all: it concerns MY server under MY rules, so whoever joins the server has no other choice than to obey those rules. Second of all: I currently only host LAN-servers, so why bother? I know it is fully possible to configure stamina, ammo and weapon limit, because I've tried several mods that have altered the values of such. In example "Project Far Cry". Stamina limit is still available, but they've increased the speed while running, allowing travel over longer distances in shorter time. Besides, whether or not you think it's cheating to run faster is quite irrelevant. They've enabled such in "Crysis", and Crysis is not a "bunnyhopper" as you neatly replied to my question. And "Crysis" is also a tactical shooter FYI, so unless you know something I don't already know, then your patriotism for tactical shooters is of no help to me. However, if you DO know how to actually change those values - as I requested in the first place -please enlighten me. |

Thanx IceT-Bag! Even though it wasn't quite the answer I was hoping for, it was at least a relevant and concrete reply to my question.
Okay, so modifying stamina and such can not be done through commands in the console, but however may be done by modifying the .lua in some pak file. Which leaves me to this: IF ANYONE KNOWS HOW TO DO THIS, OR EVEN BETTER, IS ABLE TO SIMPLIFY THIS FOR ME, I WOULD GLADLY PAY THIS PERSON $30 DOLLARS THROUGH PAYPAL IN ORDER TO GET THE REQUESTED MODIFICATION UP AND RUNNING. I AM A NEGOTIABLE PERSON, AND FOR A JOB WELL DONE, I MIGHT ADD SOME EXTRA DOLLARS TO THE REWARD. THIS IS NOT A JOKE! I'll pay upto $10 of the reward only for taking the job if it is required for my credibility. This is quite sincere, and I will make the final result of this "project" available for download somewhere on the net afterwards, for anyone to enjoy - marked with the creator's name of course. Please reply if anyone knows how to help. I'm really desperate... :/ |

I would also try posting on the www.crymod.com website, its a modding portal for the CryEngine 1/2 and your more likely to find someone up to the job there than you will here.
With FC1 being so old now, I doubt many modders are still knocking about these forums. Good luck with it |
