Hello. I bought Far Cry 2 because i watched videos and i like that game very. Now my Far Cry 2 installed after 30 min and i started it. Everything starts and fine. But after i choose my character it starts loading. Then after 10 seconds it arrives to loading where is writen something on loading ''AK47's and RPG's'' and about coyote or something. Then i waited like 5 min more but it still was there. Any ideas , how to fix this? Please really help me! I love that game but it just won't run. I did everything and checked the other topics. But still gets stuck.

What are your System Specs ? And please be more specific and clear about your problem. Does the game stuck while loading a saved game or starting a new chapter ?

In any case post your system details first.

My CPU is 2GHz. But if i run it in windowed mode then it runs fine. And it gets stuck if i start a new story. Not loading a savegame. I tell you how -------

I run game. Then i get into main menu. I click on Story mode or something like this (Up of Multiplayer). Then New Story. Then i choose my character and press Start. Then it loads 3 pictures and on the third picture it always gets stuck. Where is written that some guys of jackal sold RPGs and AK47s to both sides and something like this. Btw , where can i find my computer specs? like you told.

OK, To post the System Specs do the following.

1. Click on Start
2. Then Click on Run (if you are on Vista, click into the 'Search Textfield')
3. Type DXDIAG and then press ENTER
4. When the DirectX Diagnostic loads, click the "Save All Information" Button.
5. Save the text file to your desktop

After that COPY all the contents of this text file here at the forum post.

Btw , i run it in windowed mode and the game worked good. Even on medium graphics. But if i run it normally it still get stuck on loading. With windowed mode it is so small and its bad to play! But my specs are

Huh,

So you have a Laptop, right ? I'm afraid the dedicated card 'GeForce 8400M GS' alone won't be able to handle FC2. But the ATI Radeon HD 4850 comes with the Laptop, right ? And how much is the System Memory ?

Do you have all the latest Drivers and video card Hotfixes installed ? Also install and update DirectX 9. FC2 supports the '8800M and 8700M laptop cards' running on drivers 178.13 or better. But still the game will struggle to run properly on them. Laptops are actually not recommended for gaming, but they are not much of a downer, than having a very low-end PC.

Anyways, try to update all your drivers first. Which version of the OS do you have i.e. 32 bit or 64 bit ? Also try to run the game in 'Compatibility Mode' under VISTA.

Right click on the farcry2.exe file and select the Properties option. After that Click on the Compatibility tab and check the 'Run This Program in Compatibility Mode for' option. And from the drop-down list select Windows XP (Service Pack 2). You can also try to lower down the in-game settings and resolution while playing the game. Don't enable AA (Anti-Aliasing) or HDR at the game's display/video option.
