i have a phenom 955 and a gtx 275 xxx edition. enoght i think. i istall it in my first computer that runs a xp 32 bits with centrino 2 ghz and radeon 7300 and worked perfectly. Now , with my imporved pc and win xp 64 bits does not star. It only appears the screen of the game and then it is gone. The game came with the video carda and it is already activated. Any suggestions?

After reviewing your system information from the DirectX information, there is nothing to immediately suggest that could fix the problem you have encountered. The operating system and video card being used are outside of the minimum system requirements and official support cannot be provided for that hardware/software.

Your problem could be related to AMD Phenom II X4 955 Processor, but I'm not sure. Try disabling 2 cores while playing the game.

Open Task Manager (Ctrl+Alt+Del) and Click on the Processes tab. Right click the process i.e. farcry2.exe, and Click on Set Affinity and then 'uncheck' any 2 boxes labelled as CPU 0, CPU 1 etc., and click on the OK button. I think we should be able to do this on a Quad-core CPU, as I can easily do this on my AMD Athlon X2 6400+ ?

But first launch the game and then press 'ALT-TAB' to go back to the desktop, and now open the Task Manager and then follow the above method which I wrote. You can also try running the game in Windows XP compatibility mode. Right click on the farcry2.exe icon, select Properties from the menu and then select the Compatibility tab. Check the box saying "Run this program in compatibility mode for:" and in the drop down list, choose 'Windows XP'. We have this option under 64 bit Win XP. Hopefully this should solve your problem.

Just make sure to run the process i.e. farcry2.exe, with ANY of the 2 cores of the CPU. Don't allow it to use 3 cores.
