i found a fix for multiplayer ports for fc2
look on "my network places" goto "view network connections" disable any network connection that has a problem. if your portforwards are
set this should clear that nasty 9999 ping issue

Ok, everyone. The likely reason most of you are getting disconnected after are while, is because you dont have a static ip. Your ip address changes after a couple hours so you need to make your ip static, making it stay the same.

Trying to trouble shoot my own issues, I connected directly to my Cable Modem. All of a sudden I could connect instantly. ... I will not pursue this. I thought I would through that out there for some trouble-shooting tips.

I am having the same router problems atated earlier. I have DMZ'd the router, set it to Static IP, opened ports, everything. Nothing. I disconnect from the router and jack into the cable moden and it works fine, ranked or unranked.

I beleive you have to change your ports in firewall settings. I have Vista 32 and I click on Security>allow a program through windows firewall>add port

For changing them on a router, type your router's IP address into your browser and it should take you into a configuration page local to your router.

Hi diegolulus,

I’ve had the same issue on PS3 for the last 2 days. I don’t believe its related to any port forwarding/port issues. Ive been playing for 4 month and this is the first its happened.

Ive been looking the forums over and have found at least one other person with the same issue recently, hopefully its temporary. I have other friends that are playing fine so perhaps its specific to some user profiles.

I’m just waiting patiently for it to be fixed.

Running a server is not for everyone and seeing you state you dont know much about computers maybe its not a good idea you should run one. If you wish to get your map played then go on the UBI map forums and ask for it to be played (many server admins as well as make makers have threads up that host new player made maps) or join a well known server and ask the admin there if he could run your map.
