My computer isnt amazing but I assumed that it could handle farcry on decent settings. I downloaded the demo to see how my computer would run it and was kinda surprised. On medium settings I get kinda choppy fps and on high settings water gets really distorted.

It actually does run okay on medium. I felt the fps was choppy because, the game sensitivity felt strange at first. It still doesn't run great. 30-60 but, its playable. So after checking out my report do you still think it wont be able to run higher than medium. Oh I'm playing with antialiasing set to medium if thats of any consiquence.

Yes, keep it at medium (AA, AF low or no) and be happy with 30 ~60 on a 7600GS. You should have bought a GT version...
Update your SoundMAX drivers, and set the hardware acceleration on your soundchip to basic.
Start > Run... type in
dxdiag
On the "Sound" tab move the slider to basic.

They sell AGP GTs? What will setting it to basic do?

2. 'Basic' setting will diminish the load that the soundchip puts on the CPU to process the 3-D sound. CPU power you need for the game.

If I do this does it mean my 5.1 sound system wont come from all angles? Also I'm having a bit of trouble finding where to upgrade my soundmax drivers from. Sorry for so many questions!

The SoundMax drivers are usually only obtainable via your motherboard manufacturer's website.

If you want crisp clear dynamic true surround of high quality, and without any stress on the CPU, buy a real soundcard.

I have a soundblaster sound card from one of my old computers. I'm not sure how well it would do the job though.

I would not bother with anything older than Audigy. Which was the first really decent soundblaster and still is. Do yourself a favour, and your PC deserves it.

SoundblasterLive! doesn't have updated drivers and is out of support.
