All the other console Far Cry's managed to still have kickass multiplayer without having any of these things.

And the map thing is impractical - with the thousands of maps soon to be available, plus the verticality possible with the editor, maps would be quite useless.

Actually the good old original Far Cry did have speaker icons with name displayed to show who was talking. Personally I can't believe how much the multiplayer appears to suck. Despite all our petitions and such they still didn't put in Assault mode, the weapons from what I've heard are way too nerfed.

I haven't played multiplayer yet but some aspects of SP are already ticking me off. Can't wait for Yahtzee to review this game.

Realistic weapons would be fine until you get smoked in 0.002 seconds with no time to react.

Realistic weapons would kill with 1-2 bullets no matter what gun. That's not exactly what I want... Something slightly more than CoD, but not much more. Maybe CoD with Juggernaut on and no Stopping Power.
From everything I've been seeing though, this is much more of a PC game than a console game so I highly doubt we'll see any changes made for the 360. At least this one works I guess. The original Far Cry didn't even work it was so glitched and broken.

MASSIVE ISSUE FOR ME!

When in the map editor, if I press "Back" (the "test map button") it starts to load and does not stop loading. Just to make sure it wasnt me being impatient, i went and watched TV for 30 minutes. When i came back it was still loading.(showing that spinning loading animation) PLEASE HELP!

ATTENTION the only bug I have found is pretty serious in my eyes. Some enemy's will shoot and hit you, while they are not even facing you. The first time it happend was doing a mission with my buddy at night I look to my side and some guy is shooting into the trees I thought it was my buddy, but I kept on getting shoot. I killed him problem solved. another time a a.i. was running away from me back turned to me and somehow he was shooting me. I think the game is great I often wonder the map stealth in order not to get into unwanted altercations but when I look at a AI and he is minding his own buisness but I'm getting shot by him. I don't want to kill people unless I have to. I noticed this about 5 times in a matter of 3 hours but it really kills the immersion. on another not thanks for a truley unique and wonderful eperiance in a game

Has the potential to be a good multiplayer game, but needs some, hopefully possible, improvements.

1. A minimap would be great.
2. More stats that are accessible during game play. It's nice to have an idea of your kill to death ratio.
3. Crank UP the controller vibration while firing a weapon. It is so low sometimes that I am not sure if my battery is dying.
4. Save XP on player matches!!! You never get to play with all the guns unless you sit with the same host for long periods of time. Not always practical.
5. Work on the damage values, so they have a better balance that makes more sense. I popped up behind a sniper, squared my sights on the G3, and unloaded a full clip into the player. As I was reloading, he turned around and killed me.
6. More game types!
7. Better feedback when you are hitting your target.
8. Improve information telling you that you've killed your target.
9. Include the ability to pickup used weapons. Nothing could be more 'real' on a battlefield.
10. Respawn times are WAY too long!
11. The game type, and voting boards that flash right in the middle of the screen during the middle of the game stay on the screen for much too long, and are much too big.
12. There needs to be a way to exit while attempting to login to a game. The game will sometimes hang for several minutes trying to connect.
13. When the host is lost, you are sent back to the opening screen. This seems unnecessary.
14. An 80% majority should force start the game.
15. Why do we need to hit Y to climb a ladder? Can't we just climb it?
16. A melee attack would be good without having to pull out your machete from your inventory.
17. The aiming acceleration is very annoying. This is the case on guns and grenades.
18. Molotov cocktails are almost useless. It would be nice to be able to choose grenades or cocktails. Cooking grenades is a nice feature not here.

I realize this is not COD4 which is, in many people's view, the best FPS to date. The map editor is incredible, and offers something COD4 will never have. That being said, implementing some of the things that make COD4 such a success would only make FC2 a better game. It is so close to being great, but does lack a few things that make it frustrating to play.

I love the MP and map editor, I haven't played SP cause gamestop sold me a ****ty cd, which isn't the first time they have done that to me, anyway the MP is really good, except a few minor flaws:

XP rank resetting on Player Matches is really annoying(Don't know if it resets on ranked)

Dragunov should be stronger, 2 shots should kill.

A Direct hit with a Cocktail should kill if the fire isn't patted out

Grenade Launcher needs to be weaker

Machette should have like a 1-2foot dash (similar to COD4) cause hitting someone with it is really hard.

And that's about the only problems I've had with the MP, the map editor at first is extremely confusing but it is easy to get the hang of it.

to the people who want a mini-map: I personally think that would ruin the immersiveness. Granted the nerfed guns already do that.

Maybe a map menu held in your hand? That would be cool and fit in with the game still.

1) BUG (or poor design) - Ranks and weapon upgrades not saving THIS IS REALLY ANNOYING
2) DESIGN - No split screen w/ system link
3) DESIGN - Walking speed too slow (increase 25%)
4) DESIGN - No prone
5) DESIGN - Rocket launcher has insufficient splash dmg
6) DESIGN - no predator or assault game modes
7) DESIGN - limited options such as starting health adj or weapon limitations
8) DESIGN - Party mode online needed to play with friends
9) DESIGN - Ditch that annoying blurry vision thing when running/jumping (at least in MP)
10) BUG - when playing MP, when someone uses the truck turret they become invisible, "ghost ride" it, or drive while appearing to still be in the turret shooting - weird!
11) BUG - game freezes during intro to single player campaign (3X)
12) DESIGN - MP game title stays on the screen too long, blocking your view. Also, the "you have diamonds" title does too.
13) DESIGN - Vehicles slow and weak, stall to easily in shallow water
14) DESIGN - cannot pick up dropped weapons or ammunition and a very limited weapon set to begin with
15) DESIGN - Intro voice talks too long, just say "Deathmatch" etc.
16) DESIGN - Falling 1 story causes instant death, should be critical injury instead.
17) BUG - heal injury animation for removing bullet from ankle
18) DESIGN - I miss having a horn on the vehicles
19) DESIGN - all snipers/dart rifle should have multiple magnification options (5X, 10X)
20) DESIGN - A climb or clamber action would be preferred to get over small obstacles
21) DESIGN - Option to cancel "report map", i accidentally have reported two maps so far Googly
22) DESIGN - being forced to wait between games (to view stats)
23) DESIGN - game start countdown should be changed from 20 secs (5 to load, 15 to launch) to 10 secs if possible.
24) DESIGN - when underwater, you start to drown too quickly and when you heal, you pull a bullet out of your arm?
25) BUG - mics on LIVE fail to work half the time, requires user to quit and re-enter.
26) BUG - fail to loadout new weapon sets when changed in game (online)

Positive feedback...

1)Map editor with extensive brushes!
2)COD type healing system, plus heal animations are immersive.
3)Use of vehicles in a FPS, also vehicle driving is immersive (although they should be faster and more resilient)
4)That run and dive move
5)Multiple kinds of Turret brushes
6) D/L user made maps is WAY better than previous game (searching, ratings, also ability to decline saving after a game)
7) Driving using triggers as throttle and break instead of analog sticks! and first person view when driving
8) COD style aiming
9) Ability to destroy doors and windows

The game is awesome, weapons are balanced, the graphics well done, being able to set fires and destroy elements of your environment is great...


...but the in game party system (or lack thereof) is really ruining this experience for gaming with friends.

There are about 6 of us that have been playing multiplayer FPS's for some time now and we have been looking forward to jumping into Far Cry 2 and having fun on a team.

...but we quickly found out:


You can't invite friends to a ranked match. (Why bother with an unranked? No one ever wants to play them!)

You have to create a ranked match, quickly message your friends and tell them what map you have created in the hopes that they can join up in the lobby before it is full.

However this does not guarantee that your friends are going to be on your team. Now you have all your friends in the lobby and you have to "ask" to switch sides. (The other players in the lobby vote if this is acceptable or not). We played one game out of 8 on the same side last night. It appears that the majority of the lobby do not like you to switch sides.

When we were on the same side, this fun was short lived because as soon as the game ended (even if you were the creator of the match and put 14 maps in rotation) everyone gets kicked from the lobby except for the creator.


It's extremely disappointing from a multiplayer-that-wants-to-game-with-friends, aspect.

Conclusion:
**Make a party system so that you can invite and stay with friends continuously through cycling maps!

The aiming sucks! It is causing me all kinds of issues.

Is anyone having issues with saving games? I played it Wednesday nite and saved a bunch of times. But when playing last nite, I would save when able to do so, but the save would not show up on the load page. And the saves from last nite do not show up on the 360 dashboard. I spent two hours last nite killing that police chief bastard and clearing a couple of guard posts and now have to do it all over again. HELP!
