I also think it should be noted that my processor is running off of the newer San Diego core as opposed to the ClawHammer core.

I was getting this error too. Except my computer skipped the blue screen and just shut right off. We basicly have the same system, except i have 2 7800GTX in SLI mode. I fixed this issue by uninstalling the patches and trying again. I was able to play the game with patch 1.3 installed but the others made my computer restart. I dont know if this will help you or not but I thought I would try.

Correction, the game worked until I had to leave. Got back, loaded up the game and *pew* shut down. I am lead to believe that Far Cry Indeed hates me. Is there something in Far Cry that could possibly remember something about the computer that it doesn’t like? I mean, I can make a brand new profile and play as far as I want. But as soon as I shut the game off and come back to it, it shuts down on the loading screen. Right before I would enter the game. It is an awesome game but this is such a weird problem.

I'm beginning to think that Farcry is having a conflict with the 7800GTX line of cards.

That COULD Be it, but im starting to think that its the motherboard or something. I dont know how this could be but my friend is having the SAME problem, and the only thing that we have in common is the A8N??? I am so confused as to what is causeing this. I think Far Cry just hates us.

No suggestions at all from anyone? Is my PSU powerful enough for my hardware?

Hey guys just got Far Cry myself - played through a couple of levels and everything was running fine. Tried loading a save game - Bam blue screen and reboot. Ive only had my computer for ~2 months so I was thinking that it had faulty hardware but everything else runs fine. So I went along and did a trial and error test on my computer. Turned everything off and ran it - it loads and then turned things on 1 by one. Well it came down to the EAX and the Compatibility Mode for the sound card. The game now runs - havent had a crash since but the sounds are a bit off (gun fires then a sound comes out a split second later). Tell me if you guys try this and it works.

Hope it helped

I have got the same problem as the first poster here.
Systemconfiguration is: Athlon 3500+, 2GB Corsair DDR400, Asus A8NX-Premium, MSI 7800 GT.

It seems that the problem is related to the combination of an AMD-cpu and the GeForce 7800 chipset. :S

Edit: Another Workaround is to disable the "hardware mixing" option. It works same as the workaround above but without the sound delay.

Whoever suggested disabling hardware mixing is a genius, seems to have worked for me! (So far...)

I'm using an 8800GTS and a Realtek (on motherboard) soundcard. I knew I should have got a dedicated one! (But I liked my mobo's one as it has optical out).

Thanks rurouni_shinobi!
