5 installs on 3 machines is what its supposed to be but after 2 installs because of a sysstem crash that I couldnt revoke and 1 because the game got screwed up but was revokeable it now says "Activation process has been terminated. Please make sure the SERIAL has been entered correctly.

Click BACK to attempt another activation, click MANUAL ACTIVATION to activate manually or click CANCEL to abort. If the problem persists please visit http://www.farcrygame.com/unlock.

Too many activations on different PCs have been performed with the entered SERIAL. No further activations are allowed."

I wont be buying anymore Ubi games if it has install limitations.

Blink huh?

Why don't you just patch the game? the latest patch removes the DRM. Indifferent

It did patch when I first started the game before it got to the activation part, once update was complete it did the activation bs.

I also copied and pasted my original install that was fully patched and up to date as well.

Ubi needs to fix the activation server to not decline an activation rather than the server blocking an activation. This kind of bs DRM only hurts legit customers not pirates. If the key is attached to an account then that is all that is needed.

Im downloading it again in the hope that it is prepatched, if not and it gives the same error and customer support ignores my request for assistance then thats it for me and any new ubi games.

DRM is still running even after patching. so if you get that activate error you are skewed so to speak unless support is kind enough to revoke it.

They revoked mine but im not sure if they revoked all the pc crash ones that I could not revoke myself or just the last one.

Strange, not long after the game first came out, I lost an activation when I had to re-install Windows, but when I had to re-install Windows again, it was just as the patch 1.03 was released, and when I installed and ran the game, it downloaded the patch, and then went straight into the game without requiring activation. Confused

I lost a revoke when I had to reinstall my OS due to a virus. I called Ubi support and they revoked an install for me. I got an email about 10 minutes after I called them that confirmed the revoke.

Did you do a repare? or a fresh reinstall as in format the drive and reinstall EVERYTHING?

Try installing to another rig, update using the updater in the directory (or copy your game directory to a flash drive and paste over the fresh installed one, will do the same thing) and see if it works without activation. If it requests activation then nope they did not remove the limited installs part of the DRM.

**edit, cancel there and uninstall delete the folder and call the test done.

Like I said if Ubi decides to limit installs again in this manner i will never buy another ubi game that has it.

Steam may be one messed up program but Valve has the correct way of doing it, ythe key is locked to an account but you can install as many times as you like on as many systems as you like. as in never need to revoke if your rig blows up, you get a virus that forces you to format, a hardware crash, and 1 reinstall to keep the pc running smooth, and oh crap my HD failed and not uninstalling a game with a non working windows or thinking "oh I better uninstall this or I wont be able to ue it".

Sorry Ubi screwed the pooch on this but unlike the makers of Spore they didnt fix it server side by removing the logging part of everytime you activate the product. activate once and its attached to the online account. now you can play both online and single player and all you need to do is remember your login info.

Speaking of login info and Steam, also since I just reinstalled everything I forgot I registered my HL2 to one account and CSS to a new one that i created more than a year later. i contacted their customer support and they helped me every step of the way and found my old user name that i completly forgot about. Not once questioning me on ownership aside from scanning/photo of my keycode. was up and running in 2 days. with ubi... took a week and I didnt reinstall the game 5 times. installed 3 times one with a revoke/uninstall done.

Ok im ranting here, but anyone care to explain to me how limiting installs in this manner will stop pirates and not hurt legit customers? I can say this I did look into it and well i couldve saved myself some time and just downloaded it from a nefarious source and circumvented the whole DRM bs. yes the pirates can play the SP us legit customers get screwed because some suit with his head up someones a.. cannot see that he is hurting the company and customers, not helping eiher.

*** edit
I like the delete post in the edit part, i accidently quoted myself when i meant to edit. no more oops double post lol

It was a fresh enough install to need to activate Windows, just like the first one that cost me an FCV2 activation, so no, it wasn't just a repair.

So it's got me beat why it didn't ask me for the key after the patch, and yet you've had all this bother, the only difference seems to be mine was the DVD, and yours is a Digital download.

Ive had that doing OS repairs when swapping to a new motherboard. If the DVD version is now free for unlimited installs then Ubi realy needs to fix the download version as well. Hell they should fix it so its up to date with all the patches...

Heres another question for you, you installed the DLC pack and patched before starting the game? If yes then that may be where it bypassed the activation.
