Not really a moan, i am just curious. I am enjoying the game, and also loved the 1st one on the PC (wasnt such a fan of the cut down console game) but just an abservation really.

Sure there are certain parrallels to the game technically, its very expansive which huge environments etc, however, am just curious, Why Far Cry 2?

from what i can tell it has no relation to the characters in the 1st one, and no trigen either.

I was wondering the same thing! I mean about the only similarity is all the Far Cry's (with the exception of Far Cry Vengeance for the WII)all had map editors! Far Cry2 is a "far cry" from the original Far Cry that's for sure!

that crossed my mind too, however is Far Cry 2 really a big enough franchise to make much difference?.

If the game WAS that big and profiatable, one wonders why change the formula so much you would have thought they would have carried on from Far Cry 2 (unless in one of the instincts games they wrap it up completely and the story arch is ended)

Well after re-purchasing Far Cry Instincts and Evolution for the 360 it does have some similar elements:
-Multiple paths/branches somewhat equal an open world
-Retarded A.I. that shoot you on sight and soak up bullets like nobodies business
-Fantastic map editor
-Virtually no friendly A.I. because that would be too much hard work on Ubi's part.

I think it should be called Blood Diamond: The Game.
