I think this game will rock, first i was like "ono it's been delayed " but now i'm like If it will be better it's good (not buggy and stuff)

Just to summarise and clarify:

Yes, Clint Hocking stated in an interview posted on Gamespot on January 30th that he quote: "Looks forward to playing the game with us in March 2008"

Ubisoft has very recently updated their page and changed the release date to fall 2008 (news item on the front page of my website)

The postphoned release date is implicitly confirmed in a very recent 5 page preview of FC2 in the Official Playstation Magazine where at release date it says: 'Late 2008'. (item also on my front page)

I can think of two reasons why Clint has said fairly recently in an interview that the game would be out in March 2008:
1) The interview was shot quite a while before it was placed on Gamespot.
2) Clint was at that moment not at liberty to speak about a postphonement and his statement at the very end of the interview was 'unfortunate'.

Either way with spring setting in, days getting longer, women wearing less covering clothing soon, sun shining on our faces, trips to the beaches around the corner in a few months, I reckon I can live without FC2 this spring and summer .

Totally agree with the sentiment, but two things:

1. Its perhaps not obvious, but I dont work for UBI, so cant make any statements on their behalf outside of the moderation of these forums.

2. Perhaps you missed the official acknowledgement by Arres the Community Dev team liaison on these forums back on Dec 17th that the game was delayed from March and the reasons why?


@Achilles: I lost a post earlier this afternoon that was very very similar to yours.
Some times people have to "tow the party line" and until marketing make a delay public then it is what has been previously announced.

Well at lest the true date is now known,or close to it ,and for you all to kinda get on me to get it said... so be it... at lest i know..Thank you very much,ill go now be back,next winter..if a better game isnt made or relesed by then...

I live in edmonds(washington) so that wont happen to me, instead of seeing skimpily clad women on the beach, ill be seeing women in north face jackets sitting on driftwood shivering, while i regret bringing my warm jacket. i envy you.

The game is delayed because it is very difficult to implement trigens and to maintain the balance ecological , the same thing that in STALKER . I have my secret sources in UBISOFT

Okay, if they really think they need 6 to 9 months to fix the game, that's fine. But I doubt that's the reason. All hints I've been dropped point to the simultaneous console release being the cause of the delay.

I hope I hear official news proving me wrong, as long as it's not just a lie to keep us happy. But until otherwise proven, that's what I think is happening and I disaprove.

Although I don't directly remember if there's an offcial statement on it, I believe it is highly unlikely that the games will not be released simulaniously, also because Ubisoft has confirmed the games will be the same and have confirmed the development of all games is more or less in par.

So given the new date on the website and the ' confirmation' in the PS magazine, I think there's not much chance of any version coming before fall .

Well there is a bright side to all this.If we can wait another 8 months,why not wait longer get it cheaper..after a yr they drop the price by 50%..Good idea!!!,in the fall i have deer hunting,turkey hunting.so the winter will go as fast as summer then summer again..yep i can wait..waited over 3 yrs now... whats another1,or 2.

Well, to be honest, I for one, can live with a fall release However, then I'd expect a bugfree game.. if not, "You released the f***ing fury!".

I expect them to take their time to build a solid multiplayer with hopefully some cross over from FC1 (assault) and maybe some new inovative gamemodes instead of only FFA/TDM. That's my hope

Well they released 2 i think for play station and x box or maby 3 sence far cry for pc so i figured that when they decided to make another for pc ,we who play it on pc wouldnt have to wait till they made it also for said machines,after all they who play it on those machines have gotten 2 or 3 already,maby its not profitable,enough,for pc only but they could relese a pc version then the rest,seems to me..anyway..but ive said enough,its a done deal late fall is it.. so ill shut up now lol im an old man and think alot..lol,im not buying play station or x box just to get to play,it,i have a wii and 2 pc,s thats enough toys,so i guess ill not play far cry 2.thanks for your input and letting me know about the real release date.like most i so wanted to try this game,i loved far cry,so ill get a couple others to play,50.00 might not be much to some but buy 4 games thats 200.00 ... gas prices in 8 months at that time i wont be able to get it anyway,lol
