Cause we all know the console version will look like dookie :/ No, but in reality, I kind of hope it does, just so I can justify the money ive put into my PC, but hey, if it doesnt, thats my fault eh? 12/30/2006 XXXXDDDD I miss you. current pcs r abt two generations ahead of consoles
so theres no comparisn betn Pcs and consoles i just hope they dnt focus too much on the dumb consoles and exploit the full potential of the PCs even ive got a very expensive PC thought crysis would run great on my rig bt the coding was horrible neways lets hope this game lives upto its expectations (fingers crossed) im much more excited for this game then i was for crysis |

"Dumb consoles?" What is this, the kindergarten section of the forum? "Two generations ahead?"
I'm a console gamer, and I feel like you're selling the modern consoles just a little short there, buddy. The vast majority of console games actually look significantly better than PC games currently on a technical level, at this particular point in time (with the sole exception of Crysis). |

sm games look better on consoles becoz the developers just port the game to the pc without changing the level of details and other stuff
look at crysis can any console run the game atleast at high,no neways lets go back to the topic |

Crysis looks great, but in all honesty, we simply don't know at the moment how or if the modern consoles would handle Crysis whatsoever; objectively speaking, there's simply no basis of reference to make such a determination. A port hasn't even been attempted, let alone seen by your eyes or mine. Anything more definitive or conclusive than that is purely speculation by technically-challenged end users with a bone to pick.

FC1 PC users are still waiting for the FC1 expansion that was mentioned a couple years back.

No, he's not selling anything short. he's just applying logic to a fundamental principle. A console released in 2005 has nothing on a high end PC built in 2008. you were saying? And to clarify the crysis issue.. No console can handle crysis on High. and that's a FACT. the 360 was released late 2005, it simply does not have the technology. as for the PS3, we're allready seeing framerate issues in some games like Assasin's creed and heavinly sword, even mentioning crysis would be pure madness. Nonetheless, the console was released in 2006.. that's still Old technology compared to modern high end PCs.. sorry to burst your little console bubble.. |

Actually, I'm sure the PS3 could, the RAM is the problem. it was said by people who know a lot about this stuff, not just some dude on a forum. That will be the problem with FC2 on consoles, although i'm sure that if you had a game optimized just so it could play on a top-of-the-line PC, the graphics could be twice as good. The problem with Crysis is that consoles don't have enough RAM to make it the same, therefore, it would be more linear and more predictable A.I. etc. The graphics could be the same on a PS3, maybe a 360. I'd still prefer the PC version though, even if it was the same. |

Sounds like Far Cry 2 is going well for devs
"So while it did require quite a bit of R&D to understand how to use the system correctly, once we started having results we saw that it was a very capable console and that FC2 could run on it." They are talking about PS3 here Here's where it isDevs were worried about FC2 on PS3 "The hard drive and Blu-ray are making our life easy considering FC2 is an open world continuously streamed around the player. That streaming bandwidth and disk space is very appreciated. So, in terms of AI, game structure, physics, dynamic time of day, open world gameplay, dynamic weather system, destructible vegetation, all of those things where we had really pushed the envelope technically, they run well on PS3." The PS3 version, unsurprisingly, won't match top spec PCs. "However, the notable area where we had to make some tradeoffs is in some assets resolution which had to be brought down from the higher end PC configurations due to memory size difference. However, the good new is that since PS3 players are not outputting over the top resolutions like high end PC users, this is not a big deal. It's somewhat proportional to our video resolution output." See, PS3s don't have bad graphics, they just take a while to get used to. As i said, it's the RAM that's a problem for consoles. I'm specifically talking about the PS3 version here, although i'm sure you figured that out. This message has been edited. Last edited by: ajapam34, |
